1. Hit-ability: Coaches love a player who can consistently get the ball in play. They are looking for players who have the hand-eye coordination to make regular contact with the ball and the ability to adjust to different pitch types and locations.

2. On-Base Ability: The importance of this cannot be overstated. The more often a player can get on base, the more opportunities their team has to score.
