HIV, ಅಥವಾ ಹ್ಯೂಮನ್ ಇಮ್ಯುನೊ ಡಿಫಿಷಿಯನ್ಸಿ ವೈರಸ್, ವಿಶ್ವಾದ್ಯಂತ ಲಕ್ಷಾಂತರ ಜನರ ಮೇಲೆ ಪರಿಣಾಮ ಬೀರುವ ಗಂಭೀರ ಆರೋಗ್ಯ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಸಕಾಲಿಕ ವೈದ್ಯಕೀಯ ಆರೈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಮತ್ತು ಅಗತ್ಯ ಚಿಕಿತ್ಸೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಲು HIV ಸೋಂಕಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯ ರೋಗಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವುದು ಮುಖ್ಯ. ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ವರದಿ ಮಾಡಲಾದ ರೋಗಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಜ್ವರ. ಈ ನಿರಂತರ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿನ ದೇಹದ ಉಷ್ಣತೆಯು ವಾರಗಳವರೆಗೆ ಇರುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ವಿಶಿಷ್ಟವಾದ ಜ್ವರ-ಕಡಿಮೆಗೊಳಿಸುವ ಔಷಧಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮವಾಗಿ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯಿಸದಿರಬಹುದು. ಜ್ವರದ ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಎಚ್ಐವಿ ಸೋಂಕಿತ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳು ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ತೀವ್ರ ಆಯಾಸವನ್ನು ಅನುಭವಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಅದು ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ಪಡೆದ ನಂತರವೂ ಸುಧಾರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
