How many different horse sports and competitions can you name? The list is long with both the English and the western disciplines.  Whether you're competing on horseback, leading the horse, or driving there are many different horse sports and competitions to participate in.  Competing on horses has been around as long as people have been riding horses. Some early records show that chariot racing in ancient Egyptian times was the original form of horse sports and competition.

Do you know how to tell how old your horse is? For some horse owners, the registration or passport will show when your horse was born. Not all of us will have access to these documents. In today's EQA  # 249 we discuss some ways to tell the age of a horse.  Starting with their teeth, the Galvayne's groove is a great dental feature that appears around the age of 10. From there is moved down the tooth until it is completely disappeared by age 30.  We also learn about average life spans and those breeds that have an extra-long life expectancy.

A bucket list is defined as a list of things to do before you die.  I prefer to look at them as a wish or goal list of things I want to accomplish.  A while back a survey was done in our Facebook group on adventuresses' top bucket list destinations. Extinct Horse breeds from all over the world some are 2000 plus years old. Although there are many horse breeds in the world a few were not so lucky. We have all experienced some sort of chaffing in the past, whether it was from wet clothes,  poorly fitted saddles, or boots that are not fitting just right. Road Safety, trail riding with your horses can be fun yet scary.  Today's episode takes us down the road literally.
