    81. $75K/Month Clothing Business Started From a Single Craigslist Ad

Doobie Duke Sims didn’t know anything about making clothes when he bought his print shop in 2018—but that didn’t stop him from growing a $75,000 a month clothing line. Find out how he started and grew his clothing business in this interview.

Doobie always liked thrifting when he was touring with his band, Shinobi Ninja. When his daughter was born, he started looking for a job that would let him get off the road and spend more time with his family. He’d always been an artist and had already been making the band’s merchandise, so buying a print shop with a silk screen setup was a logical next step.

The only problem was, Doobie didn’t know how to start a clothing line. In this interview, he’ll share how he overcame that lack of experience as he grew his clothing business. We’ll also learn how he connected with customers when he launched his brand and hear his advice for other entrepreneurs looking to get into the fashion industry.

    35. How He Earns $120K/Month With a Clothing Line

Marcus Harvey started Portland Gear in 2014 with just two t-shirt designs and around $1,000 worth of inventory. He’s grown that into an iconic 7-figure clothing line of more than 100 designs. In this episode, he shares how to start a clothing line and grow it to a $120K/Month revenue with 60-65% profit margins.

UpFlip first talked to Marcus for our YouTube channel in early 2021. Now, we’re following up to find out how Portland Gear has continued to grow over the past year, along with getting some more in-depth insights about how Marcus built and scaled his clothing line business. We’ll cover every step of the process, from his design process to how he uses social media to engage with customers.

Marcus didn’t have a huge budget when he started Portland Gear, but that didn’t stop him from launching a thriving business. He’ll share how he used pop-up shops in tandem with an online presence to find and grow a community around his brand. If you’re in the clothing business (or want to be), you’ll want to hear Marcus’ insights!
