    Crossing the Rainbow Bridge

    Crossing the Rainbow Bridge

As a dedicated pet parent, it's never easy to process the passing of a beloved pup. On this week's episode Bryn and Laura share the story of their oldest dog August as they make the incredibly hard decision to have her cross the rainbow bridge. From a young pup, this sassy husky of a girl suffered from intense hip dysplasia and mild incontinence. But after finding useful medications like CBD and Carprofen, August's discomfort was eased significantly giving her the start of a healthy and balanced life. Bryn and Laura blended their packs shortly after dating but once August experienced the trauma of loosing her older brother Nanook to a neighbor dog, she started relating having the new dogs in the house to the sudden loss. In turn, she became aggressive towards the youngest of the bunch and so Bryn and Laura started separating their packs into 2 separate groups. Though it was incredibly difficult, this created a balance in the house giving August the final 3 peaceful years she deserved. It wasn't until August's health suddenly declined that the vet was able to diagnose her with intense kidney failure as well as cancer in her stomach and chest. That was the painful push that caused Bryn and Laura to make the incredibly hard decision to see August crossing the rainbow bridge. Please join us as we grieve the loss of such a sweet baby while reminiscing on such a beautiful life.

Ep 28: Talking with Bear Siragusa, from Maine to Norway

Jason and Buddy catch up with fellow houndsman Bear Siragusa of Norway.  Being raised by anti-hunters could have sent Bear a different direction in life, but it seems to have drawn him closer to the life of a sportsman.Bear sheds light on predator vs. Ungulate hunting in Norway as well as some of the specialty breeds that allow them to hunt in rough country and still abide by some "different" size/breed restrictions.   But what episode would be complete without a train wreck? Buddy asks for the type of story that will make you hurt just thinking about it.... and Bear rises to the occasion.
