Josh Miller is a multi-instrumentalist and sound facilitator. He creates sound immersions using evidence-based approaches to help people have a healing, meditative experience. For the past three years, he's traveled the world, exploring music and sound—from studying percussion in Cuba to Nada Yoga in India, and many cultural traditions in between.
I met Josh recently at an event in which he collaborated with one of my colleagues to incorporate ocean sounds from a hydrophone in the Monterey Bay into a sound bath with the intention of connecting participants to life underwater. In this conversation, we travel with Josh on his lifelong journey through music, sound, and nature. I think this conversation will be very inspiring for anyone that resonates deeply with music and sound and anyone who's been on—or is in the midst of—a journey to their authentic selves. Listen all the way to the end to hear a musical offering with Josh playing the handpan drum.
