A Message Prepared and Delivered By 'Segun Adeleke, D.Min., On Feb. 4th, 2018, at Ikoyi Baptist Church During Her Sunday Worship Service.A lot is going on in “My Father's House” around the world that is good.Some other things are however going on that are very worrisome.Just as Nehemiah was concerned about the ruins of the city of Jerusalem, all genuine children of God should be concerned about the state of the present day church.There is a clarion call to all God's children to arise and do all we can to save our Father's house from total collapse. The process of doing this demands that we return to a Biblical understanding of what our Father’s House is all about. Some of the things we need to know about “My Father's house”:1. It is a House of Prayer - V.13.It is commonly said that "when purpose is not known abuse is imminent."It is quite unfortunate that many Christians, including Church leaders are fast losing the understanding of the purpose of the church. This is the reason for most of the abuse and sacrilegious things we see happening in the church of our day.Jesus in our text redefined and with passion engaged in the recovery of the purpose of the church.This is also the task before every genuine child of God today.Only bastards will fold their hands, looking on while their father’s house is overgrown with weeds and fast becoming a den of robbers.This is a challenge not to keep quiet when we see things going on contrary to God's purpose in this church and every local church we attend.You shall give account, especially when you see things going wrong in your Father's house and you keep mute.You will give account of every idleness in your Father's house.You will give account of every prayerlessness in your Father's house.This means that prayer must be on the front burner in every local church.Prayer should saturate all that we do in each local church.Every local church should be a house of prayer and anything short of this is unacceptable to God.It is very sad today that not much prayer is going on in the church of our day.Prayer is not being given the priority it deserves.Prayer is no longer on the front burner of the church as it was in the Acts of the Apostle.Oh that God would visit us again and pour the Spirit of prayer on us.Oh that God would set His church ablaze in the place of prayer.Oh that genuine kingdom praying will return to the church.Father please teach us to pray in IBC.Please drive prayerlessness out of my life; out of my family and out of this church today.Help the Men, the Women, the Youth, the Teenagers, the children to be given to a life of prayer.2. It is a House of Miracles- V.14.“My Father's house” is a House of Miracles.Immediately our Lord purged the temple, He restored her to fulfilling purpose and miracles began to take place effortlessly.When IBC as a local church is committed to a life of holiness and prayer, miracles would begin to happen effortlessly in our camp.“My Father's house” is a house of healing.You are actually that house.I am that house. We are the temple of the living God.He said we shall lay hands on the sick and they will recover.Alleluia. There is healing in the house of IBC this morning.The Healer Himself is in the house.Let every disease and affliction disappear. Let every disease and affliction be cursed and uprooted by the power in the name of Jesus.Let fibroid melt now by the fire of the Holy Spirit.Let every sickness and infirmity be destroyed right now by the power of the Holy Spirit.Note: Isa. 33:24; Jer. 30:16.3. It is a House of Praise - V.15-16.“My Father's house” is also a house of praise.There should never be a dull moment in my Father's house.The kings of this world copied this principle from the holy writ.This is why in every proper Oba’s palace you will have praise singers and their drummers.Oh my God, let praise return to your house today.Raise genuin

POWER TO FULFILL YOUR PROPHETIC DESTINY LK. 1:26-46A Message Prepared and Delivered By Rev. 'Segun Adeleke, DMin., During the Church Worship Service On Dec. 24 at Ikoyi Baptist Church.So many people pass through this world without conceiving and giving birth to their destiny.I pray that you will not be one of them in Jesus name.It has been said that the cemetery is the richest place on earth. Why?Because so many potentials and giftings that were not used by majority of people lies buried there.I pray for you this morning that you will not die without giving birth to your destiny.I pray you will die ‘’empty’’ but very fulfilled.Mary the mother of our Lord was a human being like us.Don't mind that some people have made her into a deity.The only reason why God send Mary into this world was just to give birth to the Savior of the World.And thank God Mary lived to fulfill the purpose for which God sent her to this world. Dearly beloved, you are not born into this world to do so many things on earth.I pray that the Lord will help you to discover your God-given purpose.More importantly, I pray that the Lord will help you as He helped Mary to give birth to your purpose as well.May the Lord help you to give birth to that reason for which you were born.TO GIVE BIRTH TO YOUR DESTINY – You need the ff:1.The Power of Purity- V.25 - 27.Virginity in our passage stands for purity.While other girls of Mary's age may have become something else in town, Mary kept herself pure.While other men may have been secretly sleeping with their fiancées, Mary kept herself pure.She wouldn't allow few moments of earthly and carnal pleasure rub her of fulfilling destiny.She maintained her consecration.If you will fulfill your destiny, be committed to a life of purity.I charge young men and women; boys and girls; even older men and women under the sound of my voice, to a life of purity.If you want to fulfill your destiny, RUN AWAY FROM SIN.Avoid all types of sexual immorality - it will destroy your life and destiny.Fornication and adultery will cut your destiny shut - Judges 16:21-22.Avoid all kinds of sinful associations.Flee from alcohol and all kinds of things that will defile your body which is the temple of the Holy Spirit.STOP TOUCHING UNCLEAN THINGS - Isa.52:11.If you have gotten yourself into any type of sexual immorality, you should repent of it now and God will abundantly pardon you - Isa. 1:182.The Power of God's Favor - V.28 - 33You need the favor of God to fulfill your destiny.God's favor will open unimaginable doors to you.One favor from God will deliver you from a lifetime of tremendous laborThe Psalmist informs us that our fathers possessed the Promised Land not by their strength – Psa. 44:1ff. Mary enjoyed an uncommon level of favor.Even the Angel Gabriel attested to this when he said: Greetings – Hail!Gabriel the archangel had to salute herWe also need a higher level of God's favor to be able to fulfill our destinies.The kind of favor that will attract Angelic visitationsThe kind of favor that will mobilize resources to help you to accomplish your life purpose without struggling.Many of us are used to a life of struggle.You must not struggle for everything in life.You have never known what it means to enjoy God's favour.May the Lord release on you today the oil of God's favor in the mighty name of Jesus.May the Lord give us a fresh dosage of His favor as a Christmas gift in the mighty name of Jesus.3.The Power of the Holy Spirit - V.34Fulfilling your destiny is a God-sized assignment.It is not what you can accomplish by your human strength and connection.You need the power of the Holy Spirit.Mary wondered how it would be that she would be able to fulfill God's purpose for her life without going through the natural process of childbi

Death and life are two realities. Satan’s juicy offer is a sure way to eternal death. While God’s great love through Jesus Christ guarantees eternal life. Satan may try by all means to torture and keep believers in captivity, but he does not have the final say because he has lost the battle. Those who embrace God’s love have been made alive together with Christ, regardless of Satan’s intrigues. The choice is now yours. “This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live” (Deuteronomy 30:19).

God is altogether righteous and will not condone unrighteousness from any of His creations. God, therefore, hates anything that is described as despicable or abominable. Through the Bible, we see that God hates idolatry, sexual Immorality, injustice, hypocrisy, deceit, pride and evil thoughts (Proverbs 6:16-19). In general, God hates wicked people. Psalm 11:5 is very blunt about God’s hatred for wicked people. “The Lord tests the righteous, but His soul hates the wicked and the one who loves violence.” He hates wicked people from the depth of His being. Proverbs 15 is a good passage to read to learn more about God’s hatred for the wicked.God hates the wicked because their act of wickedness is a rebellion against Him. Hatred towards other human beings by any man is hatred towards God (Matt. 25:31ff). The golden rule says “Do unto others what you will like them do unto you” (Luke 6:31). God is the defender of the powerless. God will not overlook the atrocity anyone may do against His elect- the church. As wicked people turn their fury against God’s people by mocking them, denying them their right and putting them to death. God’s hatred will be rekindled against them and will manifest in His time.God’s hatred of wicked people does not negate any of His character as a sinless and righteous God.

In preparation for the celebrations which will commence on Sunday, May 21, we shall need your utmost cooperation to support the Church in cash and in kind. The Jubilee Committee is working hard and we plead with you to cooperate with them if they come to solicit for your assistance.It is our earnest prayer that Ikoyi Baptist Church will continue to be obedient to the Lord of the Church, Jesus Christ as we continue to exist. May the light of Jesus shine brighter from this corner of Lateef Jakande Avenue in Ikoyi to the uttermost part of the earth. Amen.

Those two words are warning words for us to listen to and follow. It is more than just paying attention. It connotes acting on the instruction. The tornado warning sounded in a city and people started taking cover in protected places except an elderly man who said that he would dare the tornado since noting happened many times the warning sounded. He sat at his porch to watch the tornado go by. By this time, the tornado destroyed all the houses on its path including the elderly man’s house and his lifeless body was discovered several yards away from where he sat.So, take heed that you are not mere listener of God’s word, deceiving yourselves but be doers of the word. God Bless us all as we heed to the warning.
