One of the weirdest stories in years....The Bishop Sycamore HS football team and the game seen around the world. Krantz's Korner brings on Executive Producer Todd Schulman of Hyperobject Industries to chat with Zach about the new B.S High documentary coming out 8/23.

On August 29, 2021, a nationally televised high school football game between top-ranked IMG Academy and unknown Bishop Sycamore High School ended with multiple injuries and a blowout win for IMG Academy. The on-field fiasco ignited a media circus as fans and audiences questioned the legitimacy of the Bishop Sycamore program and its head coach, Roy Johnson. Revealing one of the most intriguing sagas in high school sports history, BS High explores the lucrative and cutthroat world of football prep programs, the lack of accountability for large-scale fraud, and the widespread devastation of one man’s elaborate lies.

What can a fake high school football team tell us about inequity? Sadly a lot. We discuss the Varsity Blues scandal, IMG Academy, and Roy Johnson.

On today’s episode, I’m talking to mental conditioning coach Juah Toe about sowing seeds for your career. 

Juah is an assistant mental conditioning coach at IMG Academy where she helps young athletes learn the tools of mental performance. Juah is early in her career and just wrapping up the first year of her first real job, and is full of wisdom. Juah was a rugby national champion in college and a finalist for NCAA Woman of the Year. She’s currently working towards her certification as a Mental Performance Consultant, and she’s using her career to help all people, but especially women and girls, find the same empowerment she found as an athlete.

Colby joined the Ohio State Men’s Basketball team as a preferred walk-on freshman for the 2022-23 season, after being recruited by assistant coach Mike Netti. He logged his first collegiate minutes on November 11th, 2022 versus Robert Morris University. Prior to Ohio State, Colby spent a post grad year at high school basketball powerhouse IMG Academy in Florida. A native of Houston, Texas, Colby is a die-hard Kobe Bryant fan.

Evan Williams is an entrepreneur (Pro Player Insurance Group), Auburn University alum, mother of two sons and wife to Carnell Cadillac Williams, a former Auburn standout and NFL running back who was named as Auburn's interim head coach on Oct. 31, 2022. Evan and Kristi discuss the Williamses' history as college sweethearts at Auburn and their transition from player life to coaching life. Evan dives into the whirlwind of the last month after her husband was promoted to lead the Auburn football team on an interim basis, becoming the first Black head coach in the program's 130-year history.
