We are dipping back into our A-Z of Improv series this week and we are focusing on the letter E. To help us break it all down we have the founder of Liverpool Comedy Improv Emma Bird joining Iain for a lovely chat, because you know, her name starts with E! Emma is a true fountain of improv knowledge and she has a really great insight into the words Iain presents her with. This week we are excited to welcome Jorge to the show! Jorge joins us all the way from Manila in the Philippines and he gives us a great insight into what the improv scene is like there and talks us through his improv journey up to this point. He was heavilly involved in the online improv community during the Covid pandemic and is still flying the online improv flag by joining in with some of the wonderful folks over at Queen City Comedy. Jorge and Iain had a very fun night of Karaoke together back in April and you can hear each of their perspectives on that as well as many other fun anecdotes about improv and various other topics. Episode 88 is really taking the show back to it's roots with a fun chat about an improv journey and we can't wait for you to hear it! This week we welcome Mark Smith to the show to tell us all about the Liverpool Improvisation Festival. The festival opens on Friday the 21st of April (3pm) and runs through till late on Saturday the 22nd of April (10pm). They have a packed and exciting programme of work from artists and companies from across the North-West. There are 12 shows across the two days, all the work is improvised and draws upon numerous art forms including clown, comedy, fooling, music, puppetry, storytelling, and theatre. There are also four workshops in which participants can learn and expand their knowledge of improvisation. Andêl Sudik is a fantastically talented improviser who recently taught a sketch comedy course at LCI. This week we have something a little different for you. We love talking to improvisoers about their improv journeys and about a whole variety of improv related topics, but we are also keen to discuss other passions that improvisers may have. Our host Iain has mentioned in many of the show chats over the years that he is a big fan of the Aussie TV soap 'neighbours' and as it happens so are previous show guests San George and Kat Cooke. On 29th July 2022 Channel 5 aired the final ever episode of Neighbours in the UK and this was a very sad day indeed for Neighbours fans all over the world. Iain, San and Kat decided to get together and talk about the show that they have loved all of their lives and how genuinly upset they all are now that it has come to an end. It is definitley a little something different, but there are still some links to improv that will shed light on a few things in terms of how Iain's improv brain works. Think about something you absolutely adore and then think about how you would feel if somebody took it away from you. This week we welcome Charly Murgatroyd to the show and we can’t wait for you to hear what she has to say!
