    Calgary Green Candidate Thana Boonlert

    Calgary Green Candidate Thana Boonlert

I sit down with Thana Boonlert - street photographer, mountain hiker, and Calgary's Federal Green Party Candidate. This man loves a challenge. We chat about what he sees in this campaign; how he's dealt with his recent lay off/job loss; the impression of inner city Calgarians he's getting from endless door-knocking; the status of politics in general; and why he wants to work with the Green Party. He believes we need to have #courage to invest our votes in our personal beliefs and not in partisan strategy. He believes that the Green Party has the base scientific and empathetic roots to take Canada there. He believes this fall will reflect this! Let me know what you think! Is Calgary more Progressive than we think? If we get away from the fear of job loss and the boom-busy economy - do we care about the planet long term?
Thanks to Mayowa for the killer intro track Gorgeous - his work can be found on Spotify.

Ep. 2 How to Rebuild a High School Band: Heights HS

Ep. 2 How to Rebuild a High School Band: Heights HS

In many situations, directors walk into positions where they have to rebuild a band program on the verge of extinction or on the decline. This can be a daunting task for any director. Eric and Justin will share some of their experiences rebuilding a band program in the heart of the city of Houston.

Eric and Justin served on the band director staff for the Heights High School Band in the Houston Independent School District. In three years, the program grew from 56 returning members to 165. From one concert and jazz band to 4 concert bands, 2 jazz bands, an award-winning percussion program and an UIL area advancing marching band.

66: Composer Brings Hope to Prisons

Eric Genuis, a world-renowned composer, discusses the connections between beauty, music, hope, and our common humanity.

Eric and Leah have a conversation about Eric Genuis' background and career in music, and his ministry to bringing concerts to prisons. He shares about the profound effect that he has seen the experience of beauty have in the lives of those who "have forgotten what hope felt like". He also shares his philosophy of being generous with his gifts - believing we should share what we have with the world in the limited time we are given, to make a difference for another.
