What Does the Bible Say About What Repentance Involves #2?

What Does the Bible Say About What Repentance Involves #2?

In this episode, Arnie and Fred continue their discussion of what repentance involves. We begin by noting that every sin involves God. We note what Paul says about that.  Of course, sin always involves the individual sinner. We talk about the spiritual damage one incurs when participating in sin.  Of course, sometimes the sinner entices someone else to engage in disobeying God.  We look at that. Sometimes a particular individual is singled out as in the case of Joseph in Egypt. We note that situation and what Joseph did. We talk about how God is always a victim in any sin. This is illustrated in the occasion with David and Bathsheba. We discuss that situation. Sin also insults God and always involves at least a small portion of unbelief. We note what God said to David when he and Bathsheba sinned. Finally, for this episode, sin always shames God, and we look at how this is possible. Take about 30-minutes to listen in on our discussion. Have your bible handy so you can verify what we are saying. There is a transcript of this Buzzsprout episode for your convenience.

Gospel of the Kingdom – Anatomy of Murder

Gospel of the Kingdom – Anatomy of Murder
Jesus begins one of the longest sections in His sermon. He looks at the Law and gives us our Creator’s intention for that law. Jesus begins with murder and dissects it to display anger as the source of murder. Jesus then puts a priority in the kingdom that exceeds the checklist of the religious by teaching that it is not enough to be innocent of murder; we need to become reconcilers.

Copy of 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday: What My Grandfather Taught Me About Staying the Course

Hello to you listening in Warsaw, Poland!

Coming to you from Whidbey Island, Washington this is Stories From Women Who Walk with 60 Seconds for Motivate Your Monday and your host, Diane Wyzga.

As much as I try to be an easygoing, stretch your wings and fly type, there are moments when I just can’t stop trying to burst people into flames with my mind.

What sets me off? Something someone said or did which I perceive as an insult, a slight, an affront. We hear this all this time: Take nothing personally; the stuff that folks say and do by and large has nothing to do with you. Yes, true, but still the stuff folks say and do can trigger our insecurities. What happens next? Meltdown!

Practical Tip: When you are tempted to take something personally, step back, pause, consider. If what’s been said has nothing to do with you - which is often the case - let it all go. Stay your own course.

My grandfather was fond of saying, “Diana, Nie mój cyrk. Nie moje małpy.” “Diane, not my circus - not my monkeys!”

You’re invited: “Come for the stories - stay for the magic!” Speaking of magic, I hope you’ll subscribe, follow, share a 5-star rating and nice review on your social media or podcast channel of choice, and join us next time! Psalm 69: When They Hate Us without Cause

Psalm 69: When They Hate Us without Cause

    Psalm 69 (ESV)

Andrew and Edwin dig into Psalm 69, discovering it is one of the most Messianic psalms in the whole Psalter. When Jesus wanted to talk about being hated without cause, He relied on this psalm. We can learn about facing that kind of hatred, insult, and persecution from David and Jesus.

Carol Platt Liebau: President Biden Derides Opponents as Semi-Fascists

Carol Platt Liebau: President Biden Derides Opponents as Semi-Fascists

Last week, President Biden denounced his political opponents in unusually strong terms. He described them as “semi-fascists.”

Ironically, he had just congratulated himself for uniting the country. But calling people “fascists” not only divides them; it dehumanizes them. And then, history teaches us that very bad things can happen.

There’s another level of irony here. Although President Biden may be unaware of it, fascism’s actually a system where government controls business and opposition is not permitted. By no stretch of the imagination did President Trump control business. What’s more, opposition to him was vocal and omnipresent.

By contrast, the Biden administration extracts a steep price for straying from the party line. At the very least, the administration will partner with Big Tech to have you deplatformed.

It’s time for the President to stop with the insults—and, perhaps I’m being too optimistic, begin some serious introspection.

Love bombing: The Subtle Insult and What is Really Occurring

Love bombing: The Subtle Insult and What is Really Occurring

Love bombing can make a person feel like crud, but not at first. The initial reaction of love bombing within an undetected narcissistic relationship can equate to a positive interaction – until it’s recognized, and the underbelly is exposed as to what is really occurring beneath the seams.

In this episode, we are going to open the gates on why love bombing is effective at first, why it’s hard to detect, and what is really transpiring when a love bomb happens.

Matthew 5: Start with the Heart

Matthew 5: Start with the Heart

    Matthew 5: 21-37

Jesus is talking about a righteousness that surpasses that of the scribes and the Pharisees. One of the biggest principles governing this surpassing righteousness is the precedence of the heart. Jesus isn't just king of our bodies. His territory is our hearts. Andrew and Edwin examine several examples Jesus provides of this important role for King Jesus in the Sermon.

    Ep. 76: H for Homophobia

    Ep. 76: H for Homophobia
The dictionary meaning of Homophobia is the dislike of or prejudice against gay people. But here, the buck doesn't stop there. It is discrimination, hatred, lack of empathy, a third-grade treatment, and not accepting them as belonging to the same species. In a time and age where the good and the bad are called out and highlighted, it takes the form of casual teasing, and most of the time it is downright disrespectful. And Farhad & Sunetro are here to talk about it. They share experiences from their personal lives when it all started right from school (which implies the importance of education and empathy right from the tender ages) to now when they are adults navigating a more informed world, that still hasn't fully included them in crucial policies and laws btw.
