    Interview Coaching On Demand

This week we have a VERY exciting announcement to share with you.

After conducting HUNDREDS of interview coaching sessions, and getting incredible results Sarah is an expert in helping people prepare for job interviews.

BUT unfortunately she's only one gal, living in an aussie time zone, who works a day job, and all of that means she can't help everyone 1:1 šŸ˜¢

    ENTER: Interview Academy šŸŽ‰

For over a year, Sarah has been working on turning ALL the lessons from every coaching session into an on-demand step by step interview prep course.

In this week's episode Emma and Sarah talk about the course, what you can expect, and how to work out if it's right for you!

    Check out the course here!

šŸ€ Shoot Your Shot - Lizzy who bought us 5 coffees! "Hi Emma and Sarah! Thank you so much for your podcast, it has truly helped me feel more hopeful and positive in my job search. In June of 2023, I was supposed to get a promotion at my job. Unfortunately, it fell through and I was devastated. I went through a divorce previously and was slowly running out of my savings to supplement my income. I really needed that money. Your podcast gave me the courage to seek out a career counselor, apply to jobs, and interview. I made it to the 3rd round interviews with two different organisations and each time they went with another candidate. One of the organisations had me interview with a panel (partly in person and partly virtual), complete a report, and provide a presentation. That one was so demanding and my anxiety would have been ridiculously unmanageable if it wasn't for your support. Although I didn't get the jobs, their feedback was valuable and one of the orgs asked me to apply for upcoming jobs they will be opening. I still haven't found a job and its January 2024. It has been really tough but I am still putting myself out there. I have found other ways to supplement my income in the mean time but it has been so challenging as I also struggle with chronic health conditions. Without your help, I would be struggling so much more. Job searching can be so difficult and when I feel like I just can't apply to another job, I listen to your podcast and it helps. Thank you for all your support, advice and inspiration. I hope that soon I will be able to write you with the news that I have a new job. In the meantime, I will keep trying! I know the right job for me is out there."

Is asking for feedback after an interview worth it?

Is asking for feedback after an interview worth it?

So you didnā€™t get the job. Itā€™s disappointing, puzzling, and infuriating and you just CRAVE a bit of closure - if only you knew what it was that lost you the job, so you could fix it!

In this weekā€™s episode, Sarah and Emma talk about the pros and cons of getting feedback after an interview process. We talk about whether you will get it, how to ask, and how to make sure itā€™s actually useful.

šŸ€ Shoot Your Shot - Shoutout to Ruth ā€œThank you Sarah and Emma for your incredible podcasts, content and coaching! After 4 months without work in my area following a redundancy, I have now landed a job at my dream company. I only discovered you in the last month or so and listening to your podcasts created an anchor through the dark times of job searching. It can truly start to feel so hard and erode your self esteem and sense of direction and I found you really helped me build myself back up. My advice for other listeners, listen to interview boss and also trust your gut. You are your own best expert on your skills and the industry you want to be in! I had a bunch of other companies and people telling me my cv mustnā€™t be good enough and there was no way I would get a job without their exact advice - Sarah and Emma are not like this! Thank you for giving gentle practical advice to make me shine without tearing me down or trying to convince me I donā€™t know anything about how to find a job. It sounds simple enough but there are lots of voices out there in the CV writing, career coaching game and you guys are so kind, approachable, wise and generous with your free podcasts and resources. I no doubt will continue to use everything I learnt (and continue to learn as a committed listener) through my career progression! Love Ruthā€

You're not alone - how to tackle rejection in a job search

So you had your heart set on the job. You did the best you could, you got a great interview, they seemed to love you, and then you found out you didnā€™t get the job. Or maybe youā€™re getting generic rejection emails from every job you apply for. Either way, it's easy to get discouraged.

This episode has been highly requested, so Sarah and Emma go through our tips, as well as the tips our listeners submitted on Instagram. This one is less about practical advice, and more about support, and we include a great mindset exercise at the end to help you put your rejection into context.

šŸ€ Shoot Your Shot - Shoutout to SimonĀ

Hi Emma and Sarah, I started job hunting almost 5 months ago and didn't have a lot of luck until recently! Coming from a toxic work environment had shattered my confidence and it was showing, I had been applying for roles beneath my ability with little success. After a good reset over the new year and then a holiday walking around Tasmania (i'm from NZ) I thought I needed to really do something about this and started listening to your podcast! I listened to over a dozen episodes whilst on holiday and surpise a company I had applied to, rang and wanted an interview as soon as possible, so whilst on holiday we did a zoom interview which I thought I bombed, but they wanted a second one when I got back. long story short your positive practical advice gave me the confidence and tips I needed to succeed in the interviews and I just got the job this week! It's a step up, with more pay, slightly less hours and great benefits. But most importantly the people there are so nice; it's almost a dream. I've been telling everyone about your podcast, so please keep it up! Cheers Simonā€

šŸ€ Shoot Your Shot - Lynn accepted a job offer making almost DOUBLE what sheā€™s earning now. She had an interview coaching session with Sarah and said the most valuable thing she learnt was outlining your career highlights or ā€˜best bitsā€™ and categorising them into themes to answer the interview questions. She said she doesnā€™t think she would be in this position if she hadnā€™t used our pod and the session to prepare. Congratulations Lynn!

Bull markets don't die of old age, but do they die of coronavirus?
Bull markets don't die of old age, we've been told countless times in recent years, but do they die of coronavirus?

That is the question that rattled investors are asking themselves after an astonishing week in which the FTSE 100 has fallen 12 per cent.

Stock markets around the world have sold off, as investors dump shares driven by a combination of the fear that a crash is finally arriving and the forecasts that coronavirus and attempts to stop it spreading will cause a global slowdown.

The UK stock market is down 15 per cent from its mid-January recent peak - what should investors do at times like these?

On this week's podcast, Simon Lambert, Lee Boyce and Georgie Frost discuss why coronavirus has hit markets so hard, why investors should not act rashly out of fear and panic, and consider the advice from investing experts.

Elsewhere, we reveal how we helped a couple get their Ā£25,000 savings back after their phone number was ported away without consent.

Things get a little silly as we talk about how to deal with those difficult and bizarre interview questions that don't have a correct answer.

And finally, the 100 most iconic cars of all time have been named in a survey voted for by Boundless members ā€“ previously known as the Civil Service Motoring Association. We reveal what topped the charts.
