Para Xavier, el liderazgo es la síntesis del management. Y el management tiene muchas faceta: estrategia, ejecución, innovación, transformación de las organizaciones y liderazgo. Es una fórmula de establecer relaciones entre las personas, para conseguir unos objetivos determinados.
Los cambios que están aconteciendo en los últimos años, nos llevan a un cambio de época, en la que aparecen nuevas reglas y aparece una evolución de los “egos sistemas”.
Xavier nos explica que el curso es un desafío desde el liderazgo para los profesionales que tengan una responsabilidad en una organización, que con los cambios que van a acontecer tendrán que contar con tres elementos: va a tener límites, va a tener incertidumbre y equipos imperfectos. Un buen contexto donde ejercer el liderazgo.

Innovative Leadership Arises when Leaders Agree
Sometimes, in order to avoid the discomfort of conflict, we don’t take into account that it is necessary to actively participate in the dialog when the goal is for a common good. In order to move forward in this search for consensus through dialog, different tactics can be used:
- Actively participate. All members must feel that they are part of the conversation.
- Promote debate. Presenting a series of different ideas to discuss and evaluate encourages people to participate and to dialog.
- Direct the conversation in a logical, sensible way.
- Be transparent when it comes to expressing ideas and points of view.
- Have the possibility to vote on the different opinions expressed.
- Be assertive when it comes to expressing your opinion on others’ ideas.
In other words, companies and teams of leaders must build a tolerant culture that celebrates and respects differences.

Why a Culture of Innovation Doesn’t Work When People are Afraid
Speaking up at work and saying what you think can be difficult. Most of us care what others think and many people are worried about making suggestions that are wrong or that aren’t in line with their boss’ or colleagues’ expectations.
But when people keep quiet is causes innovation to stagnate. To combat this we you must create an environment that feels psychologically safe so a team member can feel accepted and respected.
In order for those on your team to feel safe, leaders must lead the way through action, not just words alone. Also it’s important to encourage new ideas, and articulate a climate that is safe for team members to contribute their ideas to.
Leaders in an innovative space should help team members feel unafraid to contribute ideas, recognizing team members for their contributions, even when they challenge a stance or policy or better yet, to the leaders ideas.
Today’s self reflection, the team cannot perceive participating as being a riskier than remaining silent.
