Addressing QVC comments, and a look at Sune.

Addressing QVC comments, and a look at Sune.

This show is dedicated to addressing the comments left, and questions asked about the TV shopping industry on social media, after episodes of this podcast.  From drinking wine, to shipping costs, to the dress codes, many different topics are touched on.  Then a look at the new shopping app Sune, which might be doing it right, before closing with two quick stories Shawn has from ShopNBC.  First he addresses the famous incident where he tossed a watch box around, and then answers the question "what ever happened to Johnny?"

    UFC's "Lucky" Lauren Murphy

    UFC's "Lucky" Lauren Murphy
She is a former Invicta FC Bantamweight Champion; making her way to her current home in the UFC. She is the #7 ranked fighter in the UFC's flyweight division- and in my opinion, one of the toughest fighters on the entire roster. "Lucky" Lauren Murphy found herself in the world of MMA though unconventional means, and with her combined work ethic and mindset- she will be a fighter that we all talk about for many years to come.

Before it was ShopHQ, it was ValueVision

Before it was ShopHQ, it was ValueVision

It's the second attempt at the numbers coming out for iMedia, the parent company of ShopHQ.  Plus before it was ShopHQ/Evine/Evine Live/ShopHQ/ShopNBC it was ValueVision, and it's time for a look back at how it all started, on the TV station which launched "Mystery Science Theatre".  Shawn will play some audio from ValueVision which hasn't been played publicly since it first aired, and a look at how the company came closer than anyone on TV in being the online leader.  Also, a conversation about the listener reaction to the past three shows.

Invicta and ShopHQ update part one

Invicta and ShopHQ update part one

ShopHQ was scheduled to release their yearly numbers on March 22, so the show begins with a discussion of that.  Following that is a look at why taking on-air phone calls can be a terrible idea, and when a show concept goes wrong.  The remainder of the show looks at how marketing can affect a brands image, as several podcast listeners have asked about what is going on with how Invicta is presenting its product.  The show closes with a quick discussion of TikTok.

"Top Gun" with UFC's Miranda "Fear The" Maverick

"Top Gun" with UFC's Miranda "Fear The" Maverick
One of my favorite things about interviewing fighters, particularly MMA fighters, is breaking the fourth wall of bygone stereotypes people have about the mindset of mixed martial arts. When you add a layer of depth unique to somebody like my next guest, it makes breaking down those walls simultaneously more complex and more rewarding. Miranda is guest that I've wanted to interview for a while, and somebody that several of my listeners have asked for. This episode delivers. I feel honored to now call her a friend, and I am not only excited to see what her career in the UFC will bring- but also in life itself. The fact that her name is "Maverick" is way more than just a convienent coincidence.

Ryan Johnson from Invicta is BACK!

Ryan Johnson from Invicta is BACK!

In this last interview, for now, with Ryan Johnson, he shares some insight to what his first invicta show was actually like.  Then Ryan shares some of the funny moments which have happened with him and Shawn in their off air socializing, including Ryan's visit to Texas after Shawn had surgery.  There's some very funny (and probably embarrassing) stories to be heard in this one.

Discussing "America's Big Deal" on USA Network

Marvin Segel is back (with improved audio) to chat about the USA Network series "America's Big Deal".  Executive produced by famed TV shopping guest and inventor Joy Mangano, it's billed as America's first "shoppable competition series that invites entrepreneurs from across the country to sell their ready-made products on-air to home viewers".  Did it work?  Shawn and Marvin will share their thoughts on this special episode.
