Im Jahr 2000 kam Georg Salvamoser, damaliger Geschäftsführer der Solarfabrik Freiburg und S.A.G Solarstrom AG, auf uns zu mit der Bitte, ob wir das nicht im Rahmen einer Testsolaranlage prüfen könnten.     With a number of shows now on the horizon we’re taking one week at a time and this week’s news is focusing on what you might see at The Media Production and Technology Show in London (Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th May) and at ISE in Barcelona running from Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th May. Also don’t forget we have our very own KitPlusShows coming up at the end of June in Glasgow and MediaCity, Salford - more on those next time.

    So let’s start in London with MPTS where GBLabs will be showing its recent product launches for the first time in Europe, LiveU will be showing their multi-camera and other 5G-enabled field units with a gateway to the cloud and Clear-Com will be demonstrating the newArcadia®Central Station,Station-IC™ Virtual Desktop Client, a new update of EHX for theEclipse® HX Digital Matrix platform, and an updatedTrilogy Mentor™SPG system.

    ATG Danmon will be promoting its full range of systems integration services, Rohde & Schwarz will be highlighting multiple end-to-end workflows for broadcast applications and underlining its migration paths from SDI to IP to the cloud and highlights from Glensound include a new version of its popular reporter’s mobile hybrid, and a new product for simple audio production of eSports. 

    DHD.audio will exhibit the latest additions to its range of digital audio studio equipment, Editshare will be headlining the new suite of FLEX software solutions for cloud and hybrid workflows and the PHABRIX stand at MPTS will find the company showcasing multiple new features included in its Qx Series compact, hybrid IP/SDI, 4K/UHD rasterizers. 

    Argosy will be showcasing a range of fixed installation and deployable solutions in support of IP and 4K production, Interra Systems will showcase its innovative, award-winning QC and monitoring solutions and NUGEN Audio will demo its forthcoming Halo Vision plug-in. 

    News from Barcelona where ISE will be taking place starts with eight UK companies who are collaborating on the GREAT Britain and Northern Ireland Pavilion organised by Tradefair and located in hall 5.

    The group includes Austin Hughes, BirdDog, Mark Roberts Motion Control, RJS Electronics, Tripleplay,  TSL Products, VITEC and NewTek.

    Also at ISE is Lightware Visual Engineering who are highlighting their full line of AV-over-IP and 
    Clear-Com®, who we mentioned before at MPTS will also have presence ISE demonstrating their latest innovations including Arcadia® Central Station, FreeSpeak Edge® Base Station, Station-IC™ Virtual Desktop Client, and the latest software/firmware update to the Eclipse® HX Digital Matrix platform.

    First off in this week's news round up is Pebble who have announced the appointment of Besco as its channel partner in Korea, Marshall Electronics has taken ease-of-use to the next level with the unveiling of its USB-based CV605-U3 PTZ Camera with USB-C, IP and HDMI connectivity and Blackmagic Design’s DaVinci Resolve was used throughout the digital intermediate (DI) pipeline on 20th Century Studios’ new action film, and third in the Kingsman spy series, The King’s Man.

    Ateme have announced that Canal+ has launched one of the world’s first deployments of OTT low-latency streaming on AppleTV 4K thanks to Ateme’s NEA solution. 

    Pliant Technologies announces the CrewCom v1.10 Update, in trade show news ISE changes it date whilst MPTS opens registration and Pixel Power has been contracted to deliver an end-to-end ingest, storage and playout solution to NHK CosmoMedia (Europe) Limited.

    Guntermann and Drunck GmbH and TRITEC Electronic AG have signed an agreement to form a new technology group, PlayBox Technology has provided a comprehensive broadcast playout platform to 3K-TV, PBT EU kick-starts 2022 with a brand-new release of SubtitleNEXT Version 5.11 and finally in the news Broadcast Pix™ is announcing a major new feature rich software release for its entire range of  production systems.
