A Conversation with BlackBerry Women in Cyber

A Conversation with BlackBerry Women in Cyber

2021 marks the 110th year since International Women’s Day was first recognized by over a million people in Austria, Denmark, Germany, and Switzerland. It has since become recognized worldwide as an opportunity to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women, as groups come together to rally for gender parity.

This year, BlackBerry sat down with a panel of exceptional women leaders from within its own business – with a combined 46 years’ of experience at BlackBerry alone – to discuss how the landscape of their careers has shifted since they began working; from collaborating with female management in a predominately male environment to the importance of mentors and sponsors.

These fantastic women from across the BlackBerry business include Yasmine Aggarwal, Director, Enterprise Software Testing, Jennifer Bramhill, Vice President, Employee Relations & HR Business Partner, Pooja Kohli, Vice President, Product Management and Karen Murdock, Senior Director, Legal Counsel.

What do you think, do we really need International Women’s Day or Women’s History Month?

What do you think, do we really need International Women’s Day or Women’s History Month?
Do you think we should have special days or month like, International Women s Day or Women s History Month. I realize this may be a triggering question for some, and people will be on both sides. Some will say absolutely more awareness needs to take place and this is a call to action. Others, including many women, believe these days are not needed and can even hurt the people they are trying to help. Listen to this episode where we will discuss this polarizing topic in detail including my own experience, changing opinion, and what you can do to celebrate these events.

Welcome to the #SPAITGIRL Talk Show with Yvette Le Blowitz

Episode 97 - Can You Hear Me Now? with Celina Caesar-Chavannes, Best Selling Author

Celina Caesar-Chavannes is a Transformative Leader, Organisational Psychology, Strategy & EDI Consultant. She is an International speaker, best selling author and entrepreneur and prior politician.

She is an Executive Coach and helps business leaders with the tools, techniques and motivation to transform and maximise their potential, establish a vision for moving forward, develop a plan for implementation and ultimately, meet personal and professional goals.

Celina Caesar-Chavannes became the first Black person elected to represent the federal riding of Whitby, Ontario in Canada.

At the time she hadn't really thought about the fact that Ottawa wasn't designed for someone like her and as a result she found herself both making waves and breaking down and she paid the price for speaking up for her community and holding firm to her principles.

Celina has now written both a memoir and leadership book: Can You Hear Me Now? published by Penguin Random House Canada and it is a funny, self-aware, poignant, confessional and fierce look at how failing badly and screwing things up completely are truly more powerful lessons in how to conduct a life than extraordinary success.

Celina is on a mission to help build a world where inclusion is real in all of her brilliance and boldness.
