    Episode 20 - Halloween Extravaganza Part 10 - Halloween (2018)

The Halloween extravaganza is winding down, this is the penultimate Michael Myers movie that we have to discuss, and wow is it good.  If you haven't seen this one please watch it before you listen to our dumb asses talk about it because it's.............it's really fuckin good (High Fidelity reference here for you sharp minded movie geeks).  Anyway I love this movie and we give it a lot of high praise, in stark contrast to the last episode where we shat on Resurrection for about 2 hours. Enjoy!

Jamie Lee Curtis: Prom Night (1980)

Jamie Lee Curtis: Prom Night (1980)

We decided to wrap up our Jamie Lee Curtis retrospective by reviewing the classic horror film Prom Night, the film that has inspired many horror movies since it was released and continues to inspire today. What did we think about it? Well, perhaps we should have watched Terror Train instead? There's some interesting stuff in Prom Night to be sure, but so much of it is either boring or just doesn't work or is just plain confusing. We even brought in our pal Matt Dykes to help us work through this thing and he had similar problems.

But hey, if there's anything we learned from this it is that Jamie Lee Curtis is a cinematic treasure. If nothing else, watch the movie for her...and then watch Terror Train.

    Episode 18 - Halloween Extravaganza Part 8 - Halloween H20: 20 Years Later

    Episode 18 - Halloween Extravaganza Part 8 - Halloween H20: 20 Years Later

In a bold move the next installment of the Halloween franchise, Halloween H20, completely disregards the events of 4, 5 and 6 and presents itself as a direct sequel to Halloween Part 2, which I'm not mad about that whole story line had become really convoluted.  We also see the return of Jamie Lee Curtis which is a nice treat, as well as the introduction of Josh Hartnett.  A decent addition to the franchise we had a good time covering it.

Jamie Lee Curtis: Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

Jamie Lee Curtis: Halloween H20: 20 Years Later (1998)

We continue our Jamie Lee Curtis retrospective with Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, her celebrated return to both the horror genre and this franchise in particular. We have a lot to say about the film as it's quite flawed and makes some odd choices throughout. The body count is low, and the mask changes partway through the film into something you might find at a pop up Halloween store. The film introduces Josh Hartnett and his messy hair baggy clothes combo to the world, and we see a young Joseph Gordon-Levitt get a skate to the face. Everything with Jamie Lee Curtis is quite good and she makes a traumatized Laurie Strode believable. Worth watching? Listen to find out.

‘The Fog’ with ‘Tito’ Director and Star Grace Glowicki

‘The Fog’ with ‘Tito’ Director and Star Grace Glowicki

This week we have an emerging artist who has created a truly unique and original debut film. We have writer, director, and actor Grace Glowicki, whose debut feature Tito can now be seen on Amazon Prime. She’s calling into the show from Canada to discuss John Carpenter’s The Fog. Grace and April dissect the creativity and ingenuity that went into the creation of Carpenter’s film. And Grace relays the struggles that she had with Tito. Grace reveals that the movie was really shaped in post and that the original monsters were removed from the film entirely. She goes on to discuss other innovative solutions that occurred on set, like making a barf machine out of a beer bong. And she also speaks to fighting the urge to be a “total dictator” when it comes to creative control, and how it’s best to only be “partially a dictator.”

Please consider financially supporting our show by becoming a Maximum Fun member at Maximumfun.org/join

You can watch Tito on Amazon Prime now.

If you haven’t seen The Fog – it’s fun!

    Halloween ('78)

    Halloween ('78)
Once again WDWM goes bump in the night for another horror-themed episode, this time diving into 1978's Halloween. Joing Matt and Tony this week is Halloween first-timer Brian Kaminske. Brian isn't just the designer of the show's kickass logo, he's one of Tony's oldest friends, which begs the question: why didn't Tony make him sit down to watch Halloween back in high school when they were discovering such cult classics as Evil Dead, The Thing, and Dead Alive? As WDWM has proven time and again, better late than never. Everyone has a different take this week, as Brian joins Matt and Tony into exploring their relatonships to Halloween, what makes the movie work, and what types of horror keeps us coming back for scares every October.

Jamie Lee Curtis: True Lies (1994)

Jamie Lee Curtis: True Lies (1994)

We're traveling back in time to 1994 to talk about True Lies, James Cameron's take on Bond starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and our lady of the month Jamie Lee Curtis. It's quite the adventure, filled to the brim with action, humor, and fun performances from everyone involved. The only weak link is Tom Arnold, but he manages to hold on to the harrier jet, as it were.

To assist us in our review of such a classic film we invited our pal Matt Dykes onto the show to give us his perspective.

Jamie Lee Curtis: Knives Out (2019)

Jamie Lee Curtis: Knives Out (2019)

October has arrived, and we decided it would be a great idea to do a retrospective on the top scream queen herself - Jamie Lee Curtis. We start the month with her most recent turn in the Rian Johnson film Knives Out. It's a tightly-paced and well-written whodunnit with really fun performances. And even though Jamie Lee Curtis doesn't have as much screen time as we would have liked, she commands every moment and makes this a great way to start our month.
