TRUMP'S SHOCKING MISTAKE: REVIVES ATTACK ON OBAMACARE - 11.28.23

TRUMP'S SHOCKING MISTAKE: REVIVES ATTACK ON OBAMACARE - 11.28.23

SEASON 2 EPISODE 80: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Somebody finally told Dementia J. Trump that he’s been calling Biden “Obama” for the last few months. So he has fabricated a backstory that whenever he has MADE this cognitive gaffe, it has been “sarcastic," so he could “indicate” that “others” may actually be running things. And just to sell this excuse even harder, Trump has now begun to do the one thing that could most easily give back his poll numbers, particularly his improving numbers with minorities; the one thing that could most easily destroy Trump’s arguments about inflation under Biden; the one thing that would be the answer to the Biden Campaign Team’s Prayers. He has attacked ObamaCare. He has insisted he and the Republicans should never give up on TERMINATING it - just when almost everybody had forgotten he failed to do it despite 29 promises that he would, and that he lost at least two elections on it.

It's not just a political millstone he's put around his own neck and the neck of every other Republican. It could also cost Trump his recent gains among minority voters. 80% of blacks and nearly 70% of Hispanics support ObamaCare and because of ObamaCare the rate of the uninsured among blacks and Hispanics has dropped roughly in HALF since 2010; just when Trump and Biden and events had tilted the entire profile of the election into things that favored Trump, Trump just brought back from the dead, what might be the LAST issue in which Democrats completely kick Republican ass. An NBC poll two months ago said Democrats are trusted by 2 to 1 over Republicans on Health Care.

To sum it up, as an unnamed Biden adviser said: “It’s almost perfect that Trump would pick the ONE thing they haven’t really put front and center, which we know is incredibly unpopular, and say ‘Yeah, I’m gonna do this too!'"

    Thanks, Obama!

Meanwhile, it is time for us to destroy Fox News. Twice in the last week its little oasis of presumed authenticity has proved to be just another venue for lying, journalistic terrorism, fraud, and partisanship that would embarrass Kimberly Guilfoyle. As late as Sunday, Fox was still intimidating that the horrible accident (never buy a car called a "Bentley Flying Spur") on the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls was some form of terrorism, and as late as last night it was still insisting Biden "couldn't even avoid age questions while on vacation" then playing a tape of its own reporter shouting the only age question. It's beyond dishonesty, it's desperation and it needs to come crashing down. And there are ways we can make it happen.

B-Block (33:20) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: Judge Chutkan rejects a Trump claim about imaginary January 6 evidence; Elise Stefanik somehow thinks she - a congresswoman - got the Trump Gag Order stayed; and now whenever you read Maggie Haberman or Jonathan Swan you'll remember they're holding back Trump news for their 2025 Trump book. (36:10) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Fox's Charlie "Butt" Hurt; Kevin McCarthy is dumber than we thought; and the Oxford Union chose HIM for their debate, instead of me.

C-Block (42:30) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Like everybody else, I was once a Sports Illustrated writer. Hell, I was once in a sports media industry without AI-generated content (and as we just found out at SI: AI-generated writers!) and so competitive that when I was with UPI, my AP rival would not loan me a $1.50 piece of equipment to save my career at the Olympics when my own bosses had gotten me drunk!

IS THAT A TRUMP ROCKET DOCKET IN YOUR POCKET? 8.4.23

SEASON 2 EPISODE 5: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT: In a tradition as old as the nation itself, Trump has been indicted. The true headline is the accelerated timeline the Judge imposes. There can be no question they intend to begin this trial not just before the election but WELL before the election.

B-Block (19:29) IN SPORTS: The shut-up-and-dribble crowd forgets to shut up. The DeVos-owned NBA Orlando Magic donates $50,000 to a campaign arm of the racist, homophobic Ron DeSantis and the team players and ALL the NBA players rightfully go nuts. And Tiger Woods joins the PGA Board: will he save us from the Saudi takeover of golf, or collaborate with those who want to see The Prince Mohammed Bin Salman Masters? (23:43) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Trump whore Mark Levin with an embarrassing flub, Tampa discovers "Dumpster Fire" is not always just a metaphor, and General Michael Flynn was trying to tweet something AGAINST child trafficking but wound up tweeting something that sounds like it's FOR child trafficking. We think that's what it is.

C-Block (29:10) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: If it's another indictment day I can only read you one of the master's works: he wrote it in 1931 when Donald wasn't even a gleam in Fred Trump's eye at an invigorating KKK rally. Yet it is the story: "The Greatest Man In The World."

PROTECT GEORGE SANTOS AT ALL COSTS

PROTECT GEORGE SANTOS AT ALL COSTS

EPISODE 102: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:43) SPECIAL COMMENT No. 1: George Santos is the Brian Williams of politics. I joked last week "If that IS your real name." Now there's question as to whether or not it is. And about where he went to HIGH SCHOOL. And the time he claimed he was black. And about how he could get Kevin McCarthy elected speaker - and get him fired later. As the Feds begin to follow his equally dubious campaign money, I repeat my plea to Democrats: don't try to keep him from being seated by the House of Representatives next Tuesday. After it dawned on me that the comp for Santos is my unfortunate former friend Brian Williams, it also dawned on me that there might still be a way for Santos to worm his way out of it. And that's also reflected in the saga of the George Santos of 1954: Congressman Douglas Stringfellow of Arizona.

B-Block (18:36) SPECIAL COMMENT No. 2: There is method to the January 6th Committee's madness of waiting until the Christmas-New Year's Break to release its final report and these fascinating deposition transcripts. I think they did it to shield the recommendation to invoke the Insurrection Clause of the 14th Amendment. As a bonus yesterday we got testimony that Kim Guilfoyle is an idiot, and that Melania Trump lived in mortal fear of being seen in her robe by Rudy Giuliani.

B-Block (33:51) IN SPORTS: The death of Pele, an analysis of the athletic gifts that made him his game's greatest ever, and his surprising legacy in New York and the United States. (37:55) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Bad reporting at The New York Times, New York Magazine, and Politico is no match for - as Scottish tweeter Al Kennedy wrote - "I have to hand it to Andrew Tate, this is the first time I've seen someone be so outwitted by a teenager that they end up in jail without it involving a dog that solves fake ghost mysteries."

C-Block (43:21) FRIDAYS WITH JAMES THURBER: His most reprinted story: "The Night The Bed Fell."

Democrats Run Amok: Border Crisis, FBI Twitter Censorship, Trump Criminal Referral | FP Episode 13

Democrats Run Amok: Border Crisis, FBI Twitter Censorship, Trump Criminal Referral | FP Episode 13

The Democrat Party is dominated by the radical Left. It is now, beyond any doubt, an anti-American party. I take a close look at three recent events that demonstrate that the Democrat party seeks to undermine the Constitution and dismantle America: the border crisis and the lifting of Title 42, recent Twitter Files revelations showing that the FBI used Twitter to suppress and censor conservative speech, and the January 6th Committee’s referral of President Trump to the Department of Justice on four criminal charges.

Then, on today’s Behind the Headlines segment:
*A Norwegian actress faces a possible prison sentence for saying that a man can’t get pregnant
*Swampy RINO senators prepare to help the Democrats pass their massive omnibus bill, robbing us of our best means to stop FBI-social media censorship
*The Washington Post says stupid things about diversity (no surprise there)

Plus, a special message on the commercialization of Christmas.

===== ABOUT DOUG WARDLOW AND THE SHOW =====
Happily cancelling the radical Left with the pure force of truth and reason, America First conservative, constitutional lawyer, and MyPillow attorney Doug Wardlow delivers unique and incisive commentary on the most important happenings in politics, the law, and the culture. His mission: to chart a course back to America's founding principles and help keep America great!

To Doug, this mission is second nature. Doug has spent his entire career fighting for Americans' constitutional rights, both inside and outside the courtroom. Currently the general counsel for MyPillow, Doug previously litigated cases for Alliance Defending Freedom, a Christian legal ministry that fights for free speech and religious freedom all across the country. Doug also served as a member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, where he earned a reputation as a principled conservative warrior, and he was the 2018 Republican nominee for Minnesota Attorney General.

REVISED: CORREA'S 2ND OPINION, FRANCO HARRIS DEAD, TRUMP SHOULD FLEE 12.21.22

EPISODE 100 REVISED: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN

A-Block (1:53) BREAKING OVERNIGHT NEWS IN SPORTS: 24 hours ago Carlos Correa was on his way to a press conference for a $350 Million dollar deal with the San Francisco Giants. Then the shindig was cancelled and now Correa has instead signed with the New York Mets! Invoking the college basketball coached who changed his mind on the way to HIS press conference. And sadness in football as Franco Harris died, two days before the 50th Anniversary of the "Immaculate Reception" and three before the Steelers were to retire his uniform.

SPECIAL COMMENT (7:17) Merry Christmas! We got you six years of Trump's Tax Returns! No accounting expertise? No problem. There are apparently no receipts, no substantiations - and somebody stopped the IRS from its mandated audit of Trump's returns while he was in the Oval Office (9:00 The walls haven't just closed in on Trump, they've crushed him. The 1/6 Committee is now shipping all its evidence to DOJ Special Counsel Jack Smith (10:52) Remember the attorney who told the Trump witness not to tell everything to the Committee? She's been identified - and her lawyer was the Trump White House Ethics Attorney! (10:45) Bigger picture: The Omnibus Spending Bill will include "The Electoral Count Reform And Presidential Transition Improvement Act," or as it has also been described: Trump-Proofing Our System (14:00) And the right wingers are beginning to look for the Emergency Exit. They can't survive an actual Trump Trial, so they are floating "The Agnew Option" (16:00) But couldn't Trump then transfer his cult to some up and coming young Republican like Representative-Elect George Santos and his helpers? I will not make Simpsons references I will not make Simpsons references I will not make Simpsons references. (17:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: He really thought the name was "John Mastodon;" the owner of the Knicks, Rangers and Radio City owner is using facial recognition technology to keep out people he doesn't like, and Sean Hannity says you're not allowed to have his phone number (23:00) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Grizzly in California.

B-Block (25:30) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Amid dark rumors at MSNBC, the day that GE was ready to shut us down because the chairman's mother loved Fox News.

C-Block (44:00) JAMES THURBER: Maybe the best of his longer works, that almost predicted Joe McCarthy, O.J. Simpson, Donald Trump. The saga of fame without character, "The Greatest Man In The World."

Episode WR3: The Washington Report on Real Talk with Ambassador Curtis Ward

The Biden-Harris administration targets China as the greatest threat to US national security; the January 6 committee stamped former president Donald Trump as the architect of the insurrection; access to Venezuela oil, perhaps, but not without preconditions; Russian attempted annexation of Ukraine territory and attacks on Ukraine civilian targets met with Washington and global condemnation; Saudi Arabia and Russia colluded on cutting global oil supplies  negatively impacting the global community.  Issues dominating the Washington agenda with implications for the November elections.

EPISODE 33: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN 9.15.22

    JEFF CLARK SPILLS THE BEANS

A BLOCK (1:45) SPECIAL COMMENT: The would-be Attorney General, Jeffrey Clark, inadvertently reveals the Justice Department is pursuing Obstruction of Justice, Conspiracy, and False Statement charges over the Eastman-Trump Fake Electors Scheme (3:30) NINE phones now seized, including Mike Lindell's. We'll get his nitwitted update on the worst crime since the crucifixion (7:30) It's confirmed: Monday's Trump "Golf Course Meeting" was actually...a golf course meeting, about sprucing it up for the Saudi Arabian Blood Money Golf Tour stop there next spring (9:00) Surprisingly, Trump declares himself Antifa (9:20) The Durham bull is over as the 'Deep State Investigation' ends in shallow waters (10:10) And in an unrelated headline: Queen Elizabeth is still dead. Seriously: British TV coverage gives one reason to worry about our UK cousins. PTSD seems to be settling in, and now they're claiming Elizabeth will be missed as much here in the US as there in the UK.

B BLOCK (16:50) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: The NBC News affiliate in Tampa kisses up to Ron DeSantis, Republicans attack Lindsey Graham for telling the truth about their secret abortion ban plan, and Etsy gets the message but a new sponsor steps up for Steve Bannon's Fascist Disco Party - and they compete for today's honors. (20:55) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL PART 1: The death of Ken Starr recalls his pollution of American news, especially cable TV, and I'll take you back to June 5, 1998, when I tried to quit as the anchor of MSNBC's top Clinton-Lewinsky-Starr show, two NBC News executives asked me to see an NBC official as part of a process to leave the network - except she turned out to be their leg-breaker and told me NBC versus me would be "David and Goliath" and NBC would crush me.

C BLOCK (34:30) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL PART 2: But it was even worse: she promised that if I quit, NBC would put my parents "out on the street." That's how closely Ken Starr forged the link between his live made-for-tv political reality show and the profits at all the networks.

S3E48 Beach Talk #85 - Highland Park, July 4 and the Secret Service

S3E48 Beach Talk #85 - Highland Park, July 4 and the Secret Service

There is a heaviness in the air - Betsey and Ken have personal connections to Highland Park, Illinois. The review events of July 4th and the horrific shooting by yet another 18-year-old with powerful weapons, legally obtained. America's obsession with guns is nothing new. The dark web is a place that glamorizes and glorifies violence. Ken talks about two California friends who visited Top's Market in Buffalo, New York, and met with a victim's family. Anger can be channeled into purposeful change. The January 6 hearings have filled in the detail with powerful witnesses who have exposed the planning which led to the insurrection. While conservatives (Fox News) complain about the disruption of Justice Kavanaugh's dinner by protesters, at the same time they downplay the assault on the US Capitol. All of this hard news seems to be prompting a positive response - we've got work to do as the mid-terms approach.

S3E46 Beach Talk #84 Cassidy Hutchinson Takes Center Stage

S3E46 Beach Talk #84 Cassidy Hutchinson Takes Center Stage

After a break, Betsey Newenhuyse is back for Beach Talk. Ken reviews his experience on the Civil Rights Tour of the South. The Select Committee to Investigate the January 6 Attack on the Capitol called a special meeting, introducing Cassidy Hutchinson, top aid to Mark Meadows, White House Chief of Staff to the former President. Her testimony takes us into the White House as the violent attack on the Capitol as Congress convened to affirm the state-certified electors of the Electoral College. Ken and Betsey sort through the evidence. It's reminiscent of the Watergate Hearings and the breakout testimony of White House Counsel, John Dean. They also review the decision of the Supreme Court to reverse Roe V. Wade, exposing the court's conservative majority as a political friend of the "Pro-Life" political faction. It's the Federalist Society's dream come true - and more is to come. The celebration and claims that the Pro-Life movement will suddenly provide care for needy women sound hollow and disingenuous. Have we created Frankenstein's Monster? (Special Commentary)

Have we created Frankenstein's Monster? (Special Commentary)

“I have love in me the likes of which you can scarcely imagine and rage the likes of which you would not believe. If I cannot satisfy the one, I will indulge the other.”
    Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

"Man," I cried, "how ignorant art thou in thy pride of wisdom!”

    ― Mary Shelley, Frankenstein

    Have we created Frankenstein's Monster?

FOX News Founder Roger Ailes started with a noble idea. To give conservatives a level playing field in the form of a news network that presented the conservative viewpoint in its editorializing and a fair and balanced network in its reporting. As an advisor to President Richard Nixon he saw the unfairness the President was subject to every day he got up out of bed to fight for the American People.  He was also witness to the nullification of Richard Nixon's 49 state win and his forced resignation from the Presidency.

Now you may not agree with that assessment but millions of people through out the land did agree with it and were angry about what they had seen happen to Richard Nixon. Then they sat on the sidelines and watched the Democratic smear machine destroy a nominee for the United States Supreme Court in Robert Bork and later watched the blueprint for taking out a Presidency put to use again and again in an attempt to undermine both President Ronald Reagan and later George H.W. Bush.  This included a very convenient October surprise just as President Bush was surging in the polls in 1992. Special Prosecutor Lawrence Walsh indicted Casper Weinberger and several others and included notes Weinberger had made that made Bush out to have lied about his knowledge of the Iran-Contra Affair.  All just 4 days from the Presidential election.

IT was then that a fed up Roger Ailes decided we had to do something to protect conservatives from a media and Democratic Party willing to do and say anything to weaponize government and bring down Republicans.  He founded FOX News and in retaliation the Liberal Left founded MSNBC. From there came the rise of Social Media and the ability to spread misinformation all over the society. This all occurring while these cheerleader news networks fanned the flames instead of telling the news.  We have ended up with a very divided society with extremists at the wheel stirring up the masses, all while the news networks make billions turning news into entertainment.

It ought to scare everyone in America and I think I speak for millions when I say we are all tired of it. This episode shows you a brief history of how a noble effort to protect future Presidents from the injustice that took out President Nixon has morphed into a society on the brink. And how we need to return to the worthy ideals espoused by the very President whose demise led to our current situation.

I would also remind people of an easy rule of thumb I have followed when evaluating the things I hear on the news and in the rumor mills of politics. "If it sounds stupid, crazy or complicated it usually is" if we would all learn to follow that simple formula a lot of what we see today could be avoided.

What happens to the monster at the end of Frankenstein?

At the end of the novel, Victor dies on Robert Walton's ship in the Arctic Circle. The boat captain finds his body and the monster who mourns Victor's death in the room. The Creature disappears from the boat to kill himself. Victor and the monste
