S3E48 Beach Talk #85 - Highland Park, July 4 and the Secret Service

S3E48 Beach Talk #85 - Highland Park, July 4 and the Secret Service

There is a heaviness in the air - Betsey and Ken have personal connections to Highland Park, Illinois. The review events of July 4th and the horrific shooting by yet another 18-year-old with powerful weapons, legally obtained. America's obsession with guns is nothing new. The dark web is a place that glamorizes and glorifies violence. Ken talks about two California friends who visited Top's Market in Buffalo, New York, and met with a victim's family. Anger can be channeled into purposeful change. The January 6 hearings have filled in the detail with powerful witnesses who have exposed the planning which led to the insurrection. While conservatives (Fox News) complain about the disruption of Justice Kavanaugh's dinner by protesters, at the same time they downplay the assault on the US Capitol. All of this hard news seems to be prompting a positive response - we've got work to do as the mid-terms approach.

Musk's Twitter Withdrawal, Floating Abortion Clinic, NYT vs. Biden, Guest: Legal Prof. John Baker on Attacks on the Constitution

On today's Breitbart News Daily podcast, we begin with Elon Musk pulling out of the deal to buy Twitter. This saga might not be close to over. Next, we report on a possible floating abortion clinic in the Gulf of Mexico and other hysterical abortion headlines hyped by our press. Then, we get into some truly pathetic polling numbers for Pres. Joe Biden that has even The New York Times trying to push him aside, perhaps. Seriously, all but a quarter of Democrats don't want him to run for reelection according to a poll. Donald Trump dunked on both Biden and Musk in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News. Also in the opening, a flood of illegal aliens are streaming over our border, more apparent Hunter Biden crack footage is unearthed, and details of heinous crimes sweeping our cities shock and appall. Finally, our "Woke Update" includes one of the most important trans stories all year. Our guest today is Dr. John Baker, legal scholar and professor at LSU. We start with a discussion of some of the big Supreme Court cases from this summer, but segue into a deeper discussion on the nature of the court itself, past and present. Is it really still the "Roberts Court"? Does SCOTUS truly represent the elite or is it more populist than ever? All that and more in the interview.

Ep. 78 Abortion, Guns, Prayer and the Supreme Court

The most recent term of the newly appointed Supreme Court has come to an end, including the Trump additions of Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett and boy did it end with a bang. Colin and Russ break down new cases overturning Roe v. Wade, extending gun rights, and expanding the right to pray on public school property. Why did they rule the way they did, what is an Originalist, and if you don't like the way the Supreme Court wind is blowing, what can you do about it? All this and a new DCOTW for your listening pleasure!

    Roe is dead. Now what?

    Roe is dead. Now what?

Today the Supreme Court issued their opinion in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. It overruled Roe v. Wade and Planned Parenthood v. Casey, meaning there is no longer constitutional protection for the right to an abortion. Melissa, Leah, and Kate recap the horrific opinion by Justice Alito and the somehow-worse concurrence by Justice Thomas, and also read some passages straight from the dissent.

You’re angry. We’re angry. Let’s do something about it. From directly supporting patients who need abortions right now, to electing pro-choice candidates in 2022 and building a progressive majority over the long term, you can find everything you need to fight back in our Fuck Bans Action Plan hub at votesaveamerica.com/roe.

    The Newly Constituted and Restless

    The Newly Constituted and Restless

The Supreme Court released four opinions last week (still 20-something to go before the end of the term), so Leah, Kate, and Melissa break them all down. Plus, they address the need for increased security for all federal judges, and offer a recipe for a new, refreshing cocktail to sip while you take in all the news.

Recapped opinions include the bankruptcy case Siegel v. Fitzgerald [8:26], the Medicaid case Gallardo v. Marstiller [10:34], the pro-arbitration-plaintiff-win-after-a-kick-ass-argument-by-lady-lawyer case Southwest Airlines v. Saxon [21:07], and the Bivens case, Egbert v. Boule [26:19].

Killing Kavanaugh: What the Assassination Scare Means, Guests: Dr. Navarro on Dem's Jan. 6th Warfare, Carrie Severino on SCOTUS

On today's Breitbart News Daily podcast, we begin with all the details we know about the armed man who apparently wanted to kill Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and was arrested early Wednesday. We break down the news and then consider whether there is any blame for all of those left-wingers who have condoned - if not outright endorsed - violence against their political opponents in recent years.  We then do a brief preview of the January 6th Committee's prime time show trial. Then, alarming polling data for Pres. Biden, who now has another scandal to deal with to go along with crises throughout the land. We give you the "what" and the "why." Finally, an update on George Soros' effort to buy influence in this country and what it has wrought. (Spoiler alert: a lot of lawlessness and chaos). Our first guest today is Carrie Severino, President of the Judicial Crisis Network, who co-authored a book on Brett Kavanaugh's confirmation. We discuss the Supreme Court, the future of abortion in this country, and her experience as a former Supreme Court clerk. Then, former advisor to Pres. Trump, fan favorite, and MAGA O.G. Dr. Peter Navarro on the legal war that is being waged against him by our own government. Utterly frightening.

    The Dumb Idea Podcast

    Roe v Wade Overturned??

With the leak of Justice Samuel Alito's draft opinion of an abortion court case, emotions are running high in the pro-choice and pro-life camps of the abortion debate. We take a look at what the ramifications of overturning Roe v Wade could be. We also look at the implications of draft opinions being leaked could be. As far as political topics, there are few that charge up voters more than abortion and we could see some major shifts in the political landscape of The United States of America.

Episode 142-The Leaked Preliminary SCOTUS Ruling on Roe v. Wade and the Casey Standard

Episode 142-The Leaked Preliminary SCOTUS Ruling on Roe v. Wade and the Casey Standard

In this episode of the National Crawford Roundtable podcast the guys discuss the leaked preliminary SCOTUS ruling on Roe v. Wade and the Casey standard.  How dangerous is this kind of leak?  Could it mean 2 months for a threat and intimidation campaign to be launched to possibly change the vote of Barrett or Kavanaugh?  Why don't Liberals and the media seem to care about the leak factor?  Will this act as a distraction from Biden's inflation, and distastrous policies?  Does it draw attention away from the upcomiing release of Dinesh D'Souza's "2000 Mules" documentary concerning the 2020 Election?  Will this leak energize the Democrat's base for Mid-Terms.? If the Roe v. Wade overturn holds will it become a part of Donald Trump's legacy?  If Roe v. Wade is overturned. what does that REALLY mean for abortion in America?
