The Simpsons executive Producer Al Jean

Leslie and Dr. Ejaz Naqvi 1-15-15

Leslie and Dr. Ejaz Naqvi 1-15-15
Leslie is joined by Dr. Ejaz Naqvi, the past president of the Islamic center in San Francisco and a practicing physician.

Dr. Naqvi says the Paris attack is not about
Muslims vs. the West, as is often portrayed. He says
the fight is between extremists and the decent, silent
majority. He and Leslie discuss this further during the interview.

A “born-again Muslim” after reading the Quranic translation for the first time in its entirety about two decades ago, Dr. Ejaz Naqvi has since then pondered over the verses of the Quran and discovered that many of its teachings remain arcane.

Eager and in search of finding the common grounds, his subsequent study of the Quran and the Bible has led him to finding significant similarities in the teachings of the Scriptures.

He shares these discoveries with his readers in his Amazon bestselling book, "The Quran: With or Against the Bible?"

    2015 Jan Trance-Mission 03 (Ride The Wave)

    2015 Jan Trance-Mission 03 (Ride The Wave)

Trance-Mission Episode 03 (Ride the Wave)

All sine waves are characterized by their frequency, amplitude and phase.. Let's alter all those parameters...

Continuing my Trance-Mission. Last episode left us just “As the Rush Came”, this one is all about riding that metaphorical and physical sine wave.. Come and Ride it with Me..

Waves are all around us, light waves, sound waves, sub-atomic quantum waves and also liquid waves of course. There are no real difference in the physics of the surfing wave, the sound wave and the chemical wave, they are all encompassing..

One cannot fight the wave, one has to accept the highs, the lows, surrender to the overwhelming phenomena or emotion. Fight it and you fall into the abyss, ride it and you come back on top ready for the next one..

Although we are in Tranceland, I tried to keep it in my beloved Trouse.. If I did my selection right, at the end of this journey, you will have discovered some great tunes, be surprised by some edgier, harder ones, recognized some old club favourites, taken from one track you love to one you are not sure of, but you will have ridden that Wave and landed with a satisfactory smile on the other side of the tunnel..

At least this was my intent!

Current tunes or 2014 remixes of tracks you know very well. Some commercial, some less, some chilled, some pure club-dance. Some dark and heavy , some as warm as the summer sun. Embark on a musical helter-skelter, ride the wave high and low and look at this new episode as a whole journey, do not take a tune by tune attitude, because it will not work. Embrace the total Wave…

I will try to set the mood for you: this is what a DJ would play in a boy’s club past-midnight when the chase, the hunt and the urge has taken them over...

    Highlights:

“We’re All We Need”, new collaboration between A&B and the fantastic vocalist Zoe Johnston. Not quite at the level of the fantastic Love is not Enough, which is one of my all time favourite Trance track but still very, very good and top 5 trance track of 2014. I almost called the set “We’re all we need” as it could have been a very fitting title.

“Don’t Stop” and “After Glow” to bring a dark sexy under-current ( to continue the nautical analogy). Both tracks straight out an ADE 2014 compilation called Intricate Records Amsterdam 2014 which you should by..

I actually had “Don’t Stop”, followed by “Till I Come” followed by”Afterglow”.. I was very pleased oh-not-so subtle riddle.. But it was totally gratuitous and the 3 tracks were keeping the set tempo too slow for far too long.

“Let Go” a little progressive trance, trousy number with another great vocalist Julie Thompson.

“Need 2 Know” I wanted to go back to this track, one of the best of 2014 to showcase the East8 Remix, which even though not as good as the Earnshaw one, presents a different dimension to the State Unknow jam.

“Sunlight” a Tommy MC soundcloud bootleg.. Does not get more commercial than this but needed to lighten the mood and start bringing some fun into the mix. You will sing-a-long..

Going darker and harder with David Penn/Rae’s “I Lift My Hands”. Love Rae by far the best female DJ/Producer around.

Straight onto an old French house favourite of mine “Discopolis” ( straight men if you have never seen the video clip, search for it..). The Freemsasons remix fitting perfectly the mood I wanted the set to be by now.. Heavy but still clubby.

From there embarking on a little Sophie Ellis-Bextor medley. Love her since GrooveJet times! I recently saw a video of a show she did live accapella and then with a band in London.. Sophie rocks. She is beautiful well spoken, elegant and immensely talented. Starting with “Only Child”, her new Dec 2014 release straight onto another Freemasons remix of Heartbreak (Make Me a Dancer)..

By now, you have successfully ridden the Wave!

I had another go at using the Marc Evans vocals on a Trance track with “Shirahama”, definitively not as good as my previous attempt but I was bringing the set home and I was in the moment, waiting to send a message of Love consideering the recent event in Paris.

Closing the loop with another remix of “We’re All We Need”.. track of the set..

I will see what the community makes of this Episode. I hope you give it a chance to grow on you. DO NOT fight the wave. Embrace it!

A final word on the recent event in my country. I thought of doing a set to celebrate freedom of expression but could not find the right metal place to build it.

Therefore just a few words, yes, JeSuisCharlie and so should you all be, because freedom of expression is an indisputable foundation of the Human Rights..

    A bientôt!
