    On February 22, 2020, 42-year-old David Ayres got the phone call of his life. It was Hockey Night in Canada in Toronto with the Carolina Hurricanes and Toronto Maple Leafs in the midst of a tight playoff race. Both Hurricanes goalies suffered injuries by the second period and they needed to bring in an emergency backup goalie. Ayers was their man. The magical performance by Ayers in Toronto ended up being voted by NHL fans the Best Feel-Good Moment in 2020. This episode of 'Keep Swinging' is all about being ready for when your name is called as the netminder details such a memorable night and how he overcame a health scare prior to that game.

John was more than gracious with his time, and as a result this is part one of two. Crestwood Edge students Malena and Ryan join us and ask John some tough questions. We gain some insight into how John became the first player granted exceptional player status by the Ontario Hockey League, and what it was like to be named captain of the most recognized and popular hockey team in Canada, the Toronto Maple Leafs. John gets placed on the hot seat when Producer Peers questions him about who is the better brother-in-law, Owen or Tanner.

    The Caps are the Champions!

    The Washington Capitals are the Stanley Cup champions! It's was a glorious final, one for the record books, and one for the ages. We take care of some league news at the start, specifically around the Islanders with Lou cleaning house and the Blackhawks future when it comes to Crawford. Maybe they get their darling goalie back from Carolina? We also jump into Game 3, 4, and 5 of the Final.

    This entire Cup run can be experienced just from the emotions of Ovechkin alone. It's a glorious sight to behold as Ovi has given the Cup the best party we've seen in a long time. He may not be sober until next season at this rate. Finally, we discuss the upcoming season and reveal the changes we have planned during the offseason to the show! It's been a great season and we're glad to have everyone on board!
