Talking ‘Thunder Force’, ‘Voyagers’, And Captain America Goes To The Dark Side!

Talking ‘Thunder Force’, ‘Voyagers’, And Captain America Goes To The Dark Side!
This week on Cinema Royale we intend to make it short and sweet, and fail miserably as we always do. It’s not our fault, Wrestlemania and Colin Farrell distracted us! Other than that we cover reviews of the Lord of the Flies in space sci-fi film Voyagers, Netflix’s plus-sized superhero comedy Thunder Force with Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer, and that AMAZING episode 4 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier!

All this and more! You can subscribe to Cinema Royale wherever you get your podcasts!

Talking ‘Nobody’, ‘Falcon And The Winter Soldier’, ‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer, & More

Talking ‘Nobody’, ‘Falcon And The Winter Soldier’, ‘The Suicide Squad’ Trailer, & More
Two parts ass-kicking and one part hilarity this week on Cinema Royale as the guys look at Bob Odenkirk as an elite assassin in Nobody. Then a check-in with Eric Andre in Bad Trip before diving into the first two episodes of Disney+’s new series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Oh, and make sure to stay to the end as we dissect the amazing trailer for James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad (spoiler alert: King Shark steals the show!)

Talking ‘WandaVision’ Finale, ‘Coming 2 America’, ‘Boss Level’, And More

Talking ‘WandaVision’ Finale, ‘Coming 2 America’, ‘Boss Level’, And More
Lots to talk about on this week’s Cinema Royale, starting with the season (series??) finale of WandaVision! Do the Avengers lovebirds manage to fight their way into sitcom happily ever after?

Plus, the long wait for Coming 2 America is over, and should fans of Eddie Murphy’s classic comedy be worried? Also, reviews of Chaos Walking with Tom Holland and Daisy Ridley, following a production that was chaotic to say the least; finally reviews of Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon and Joe Carnahan’s long-awaited time-loop flick Boss Level!

Talking Old School Sequels, Nic Cage And Willy's Wonderland, WandaVision, & More

Talking Old School Sequels, Nic Cage And Willy's Wonderland, WandaVision, & More
This really wasn’t the plan for Cinema Royale this week, but somehow we fell into a rabbit hole of talking about old school sequels with some of our favorite actresses, such as Wild Things 2, Poison Ivy, and others.

Once we get our shit together we look at the latest crazy career turn for Nicolas Cage with Willy’s Wonderland. Plus reviews of To All the Boys: Always and Forever, and Barb and Star go to Vista Del Mar, and we couldn’t let the latest episode of WandaVision slip by.

All this and our thoughts on the new Zack Snyder’s Justice League trailer.

Talking WandaVision's Stunning Cameo! Judas and the Black Messiah, Malcolm & Marie, and Sundance

Talking WandaVision's Stunning Cameo! Judas and the Black Messiah, Malcolm & Marie, and Sundance
On this week’s show, what else? We’re talking Wandavision and how one incredible cameo may, or may not, have altered the fabric of the MCU.

Plus, reviews of the revolutionary drama Judas and the Black Messiah starring Lakeith Stanfield and Daniel Kaluuya, and Netflix’s intense relationship film Malcolm & Marie starring Zendaya and John David Washington!

Plus, a breakdown of the 2021 virtual Sundance Film Festival and if any future Best Picture nominees were part of a limited slate out of Park City.

Cinema Royale Picks The Best Movies Of 2020

Cinema Royale Picks The Best Movies Of 2020
2020 may have been a complete disaster that only Roland Emmerich could love, but it wasn’t all bad. There was quite a lot of good out there in the movie world, and while it wasn’t enough to make everything better, there was enough to at least fill an hour of our show. Since we did the Worst of 2020 last week, Cinema Royale is back with the Best Movies of 2020. And for the first time ever, we didn’t just steal one another’s picks with the exception of one.

Cinema Royale Picks The Worst Movies of 2020

Cinema Royale Picks The Worst Movies of 2020
Can you really appreciate the best without acknowledging the worst? On this week’s episode of Cinema Royale, we look with shame at the movies that made an already-horrible year just that much worse. No highs on this list, nothing but hilariously dreadful lows. Some aspired to greatness, others reached for the lowbrow and grabbed it a little too effectively. However they got here, they’re here now and before we can look at the good, we gotta look at the bad that Hollywood had to offer in 2020, including at least one which is literally in the trash bin.

Talking WONDER WOMAN 1984, SOUL, ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI, & More!

Talking WONDER WOMAN 1984, SOUL, ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI, & More!
Merry Christmas! This holiday season our gift to you is…less of us! Well, by about 20 minutes. We’ve still got a full bunch of reviews that you can listen to while sitting by the fire with your cup of cocoa and plate of Christmas cookies. The big one, of course, is WONDER WOMAN 1984! Does it live up to the previous movie and do well enough at the box office to warrant a third?

Plus, reviews of Regina King’s directorial debut ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI, Tom Hanks in NEWS OF THE WORLD, Robert Rodriguez’s WE CAN BE HEROES, and Pixar’s latest, SOUL!

Talking Lots of Movies But Also The Mandalorian finale!

Talking Lots of Movies But Also The Mandalorian finale!
On this week’s Cinema Royale we’ve got a full lineup to get through before we can do what we really wanna do, which is gush about THE MANDALORIAN’s season 2 finale! How fast can get everything else done? Well, you know us, not too fast at all.

We’re talking about the Carey Mulligan thriller PROMISING YOUNG WOMAN, a film everyone is buzzing about. The late Chadwick Boseman has been winning awards left and right for his performance in MA RAINEY’S BLACK BOTTOM, and we’ll take a look at what turned out to be his final role. Plus we’ve got reviews of the erotic thriller FATALE with Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy, and finally the surprisingly-good GREENLAND starring Gerard Butler.

Talking 'Nomadland', 'The Prom', Warner Bros. VOD Bombshell and More!!

Talking 'Nomadland', 'The Prom', Warner Bros. VOD Bombshell and More!!
This week on Cinema Royale we talk about a likely awards winner in Frances McDormand’s new NOMADLAND, then it’s on to something more colorful in Ryan Murphy’s THE PROM. That’s not the big news though, the bombshell that Warner Bros is moving their entire 2021 slate to HBOMax for simultaneous VOD and Theatrical premier, that’s the big news, and Travis and John jump deep into what this means for the future of theatrical films!

All of this after we finish rambling for through the first segment. Why can’t we get to everything we want to talk about? Can’t figure that shit out. We barely got to THE MANDALORIAN this week!

It’s WAR WITH GRANDPA vs. HUBIE HALLOWEEN!

It’s WAR WITH GRANDPA vs. HUBIE HALLOWEEN!
No matter who wins we all lose this week as it’s two Adam Sandler and Netflix’s HUBIE HALLOWEEN vs. Robert De Niro’s WAR ON GRANDPA. One of these flicks is like a flaming bag of dog poo left on your front porch. The other like someone just egged your car.

Plus news on what’s left of the movie business, which ain’t a lot. Regal has shut down theaters, every movie you were looking forward to has fled to 2021 or 2022, and it’s pretty dire out there. It’s dark, cold, and scary. Hopefully we can cheer you up a little by talking about some easily hateable flicks.

Talking 'Enola Holmes' News from the DC and Marvel EU's and more!!
On the latest episode of Cinema Royale, we rave over Netflix’s ENOLA HOLMES starring Millie Bobby Brown, Henry Cavill, Sam Claflin, and Helena Bonham Carter. It might be the best movie Netflix has done all year, although we sorta disagree on that. Plus, updates on BLACK ADAM, ZACK SNYDER’S JUSTICE LEAGUE, and BLACK WIDOW!
