    200th Podcast Celebration!

Marc and Greg are proud to present our 200th podcast! This podcast has two main parts. In the first half, we have an interview with the Voltron AU Band, Lotor and the Generals. In the second half, our guests are 6 amazing cast members from Voltron Legendary Defender, including AJ LoCascio, Josh Keaton, Kimberly Brooks, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Tyler Labine and Jeremy Shada. Also, for the 1st time, we have a video version of this same podcast on our YouTube channel. You can see the podcast here:

First off, HUGE Thank you to Voltron Fans who have listened and participated in the podcast for these last 6.5 years!! Lotor and the Generals

Lotor and the Generals are on our podcast for the first time and we are happy to share their amazing music with the Voltron fandom! We talk about their collaboration with the real Lotor himself, AJ LoCascio, on the song, "The Rift." We also share some stories and music, including parts of "Vrepit Nah!", "Witch and Dad", and "Return of Voltron - Rise and Atone."

The music video for Return of Voltron - Rise and Atone was created by Crystal Rebellion from #TeamPurpleLion (https://twitter.com/CrystalRebelion).

    Voltron Legendary Defender Cast

We are so proud to have, all at the same time, the amazing cast of Voltron Legendary Defender, including Kimberly Brooks, AJ LoCascio, Josh Keaton, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Tyler Labine and Jeremy Shada.

This mini-reunion was so special for all of the voice actors, and you'll love all their stories about things that happened during recording sessions, their contributions to Voltron folklore (Brown lion), their hopes for coming back as a Voltron cast once more, what minor characters they may have played on the show, and what they have been doing lately, both professionally and personally.  What a fantastic group of people!

Don't forget, VoltCon 2020 is still ON for October 24-25, 2020, in Indianapolis, Indiana. Marc and Greg are back again as guests, and you can be sure we'll be safe and social distancing, while getting together with Voltron fans. You can get your tickets at https://voltcon.org/

OSMinterview! Josh Keaton @ Momocon 2018

OSMinterview! Josh Keaton @ Momocon 2018

This time, our interview is uh... intergalactic! And uh, spectacular! Legendary? Is that a thing? Well, the thing is that this is an interview with Josh Keaton! He has done a bunch of cool voice-over roles like Shiro in Voltron: Legendary Defender! Or Spider-Man in The Spectacular Spider-Man, or if you would rather someone more potentially villainous, Norman Osborn in Marvel's Spider-Man! And if you really wished he voiced a guy named Jack, oh hey! He was Jack Darby in Transformers: Prime.

As Always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!

    One-On-One with Josh Keaton

    One-On-One with Josh Keaton

Josh Keaton, who plays Shiro on Voltron Legendary Defender, and is an amazing actor, returns to the podcast for a unique one-on-one interview. Find out where Josh will be making his next Con appearance, what he thinks about Shiro's development through the end of Season 7, and whether there will be a sequel to his hit YouTube Music Video, "You're Welcome". Also, our RetroVoltron segment is all about Commander Hawkins, the OG equivalent of Captain Shiro.

Josh Keaton is Shiro's #1 Fan. If you dare, you can challenge this statement, but since Josh had at least a 1-year jump on anyone else for getting to know this character intimately, and even brought this character to life, with the help of a great animation team, and continues to be Shiro's greatest Champion, you should be happy with sharing #2 with multitudes of other Voltron fans.

We are so happy to present this unique one-on-one interview with Josh Keaton. You may notice at one point, about 3.5 doboshes in, that Josh's audio sounds different for the rest of the interview. Josh switched to a different iPad on Skype that was newer so the connection would remain consistent. We hope you understand. Thanks!

For our RetroVoltron segment, Greg reviews what we believe is the OG equivalent of Captain Shiro, and that would be the Captain of the Explorer from the Vehicle Team episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe, Commander Hawkins.

Greg not only gives you the Voltron side of Hawkins, but also the Armored Fleet Dairugger XV (original Japanese show) version, and how it compared to Voltron.

Here are some screenshots of Commander Hawkins:

As we mentioned in the podcast, Hot Topic is now offering Voltron Legendary Defender Ceramic Reveal Mugs! Marc and Greg review Begin the Blitz, and we'll share some of those screenshots below, but first, let's share when Marc mentions Josh Keaton's Moana/Voltron mashup music video "You're Welcome!" on Josh's YouTube channel, which also features Bex Taylor Klaus, Kimberly Brooks, AJ LoCascio, and Neil Kaplan, who make a great split-screen crew for this awesome parody song. Here is the link to it on Josh's YouTube Channel:

Greg also mentions that we posted a new music video of our own on the Let's Voltron YouTube channel. Lucas Morrell, the son of Let's Voltron Podcast Host, Marc Morrell, was caught on video practicing his piano version of the Voltron Legendary Defender theme by Alex Geringas. You can see it here:

    SHIRONANIGANS! with Josh Keaton

    SHIRONANIGANS! with Josh Keaton

SHIRONANIGANS! It's all about Shiro and it was named by the fans! We have a great time with Josh Keaton, talking about the evolution of Shiro through 4 seasons of Voltron Legendary Defender on Netflix, and then Josh answers tons of questions submitted by the fans, and at the end, Josh picks our Shironanigans Prize Pack winner! SHIRONANIGANS!

Josh Keaton, who has voiced Shiro, Sven, and Bi-Boh-Bi on Voltron Legendary Defender has joined us for a second time on Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast. And this time, it's to celebrate everything Shiro with a special podcast named by the fans, called SHIRONANIGANS!

Like Allurapalooza!, we wanted to honor Shiro, and what better way than to have our fellow Voltron fans submit name suggestions for this special podcast. We received over 1000 suggestions, and we narrowed them down to 4. Then, in a special poll on Twitter and Facebook, we had fans vote between Shironanigans, The Shiro Show, SuperShiroCelebrationSpaceDadStravaganza, and Shiromania!

Shironanigans! won the vote and two winners had chosen that name, Amy Rudberg and Riema Al-Khatib. Both of them are receiving Shironanigans Prize Packs, designed by the #1 Shiro fan herself, Zilla! (@beanyzilla)

In this podcast, we had many fans that sent in questions for Josh Keaton. At the end of our discussion with Josh, he picks his favorite question, which reveals another winner of a special Shironanigans Prize Pack, that includes a Legendary Black Lion, Basic Black Lion, Die-Cast Black Lion, and Shiro action figure, all from Playmates Toys, and a special certificate of ownership for Black Lion, signed by Shiro and Josh Keaton. *Certificate of ownership is not real and not sanctioned by DreamWorks Animation or WEP.

We want to congratulate Josh Keaton on reaching 50,000 followers on Twitter. If you would like to follow Space Dad, he's here: @joshkeaton

We are fast-approaching the end of 2017, which means we only have 2 podcast episodes left. Our next podcast will be our salute to Voltron Cosplay, with our Voltron Cosplay Artist Spotlight, which includes 3 special guests, who have appeared at conventions in various Voltron character cosplay.

Finally, our last podcast of the year will be our 4th Anniversary Show! That's right! Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast is now 4 years old, with 122 podcast episodes! We celebrate by bringing all of you on with us. Some sent in audio files, and some sent us notes that we'll read out to everyone. We may even have a couple extra fans on Skype with us! It will be a 4th Anniversary Celebration you don't want to miss!

As always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!

    Voltron NYCC 2017 Recap

    Voltron NYCC 2017 Recap

Marc and Kim Morrell covered all the Voltron events at New York Comic Con 2017 (NYCC), including the Voltron Legendary Defender Pre-Panel with Mark Daniel, the Panel, interviews with the cast and producers, Voltron on the LIVE stage, and the signings and Voltron fan meetup. There were also exhibit hall booths we visited, like Han Cholo, Lion Forge, and Simon & Schuster, as well as artists on the show floor and artist alley. In this podcast, we share it all with Greg, who wasn't able to go, and all the Voltron fans around the world that couldn't make it to NYCC.

There is a lot to cover at New York Comic Con, especially when it comes to Voltron Legendary Defender, the greatest show on Netflix, and any device anywhere! And it all started with the Voltron Legendary Defender Cast and Crew Autograph Signings at Table 21 of the Autograph Hall on Friday, Oct 6, 2017. This wonderful lithograph designed by Lauren Montgomery was signed for every Voltron Fan in line. Here's what we had signed, and some of those pictures:

On Saturday, Voltron Fans lined up to get into the panel early, and we saw some great cosplay in line. Here are some of those pics:

Then, people were allowed to enter the Main Stage at NYCC, and take their seats for the 11 AM Voltron Legendary Defender Season 4 Panel. Mark Daniel was the Master of Ceremonies for the Pre-Panel Show and he was absolutely great with all the Voltron fans. He brought all the people up to the front who had cosplayed as Voltron characters, and they proceeded to do the first ever LIONWALK at NYCC. Then, he asked Let's Voltron Podcast Host Marc Morrell to come up on stage and they talked all about Season 4, Voltron Merch at NYCC and elsewhere, and they plugged the podcast. Both of them were wearing their Let's Voltron Podcast Five to Thrive Shirts, designed by Zilla (@beanyzilla). Big Thanks to Mark Daniel for all the Let's Voltron LOVE! Here are some pics from that Pre-Panel Show:

We made a video of the Pre-Panel Show for people who weren't able to see that from the LIVE Collider YouTube stream from the panel:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjGEB5IcOio

Now, the panel did not disappoint Voltron fans, who were looking for glimpses into Season 4, as there were several clips from Season 4 played for the audience during the panel. Here are some of the pics from the panel:

After the panel, we had interviews with the cast and producers of Voltron Legendary Defender. Those interviews are available on our YouTube Channel at:

Cast (AJ LoCascio, Josh Keaton and Kimberly Brooks) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6YALGzYu4A

Producers (Joaquim Dos Santos & Lauren Montgomery) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABlLw2w_lEk

Here are some great pics from all around the exhibit hall floor, artist alley and more:

We also had a chance to greet other great Voltron fans at the Voltron fan meetup at 4 PM on Saturday, which was a blast, and included a LOT of group cosplay photos, including these:

We want to thank ALL of the Voltron fans that we met at NYCC. Your passion for this awesome franchise is OFF THE CHARTS!

We also want to thank DreamWorks, Netflix, Universal, Mark Daniel, Han Cholo, Lion Forge, Simon & Schuster, Sideshow Collectibles, Alex Milne, Terry Huddleston, Naomi Romero, Elentori, Donya Abramo, Cheetoy, Mark Oliver, Seth Green, Clare Grant, Brandon Schoolhouse, Gian Norte, Josh Keaton, Kimberly Brooks, AJ LoCascio, Joaquim Dos Santos, Lauren Montgomery, Seth Fowler, Ryan Bradley, Emily Leibert, ReedPop Staff, BER, Warner Bros, Gary Miereanu, DC, Alan Tudyk, and many more people we can't remember at this moment.

NYCC was awesome! We can't wait until next year, and the next time we get to gather with Voltron Fans! It's always a great time!

We also talked about our TeePublic Store, where you can find a ton more Voltron designs, and TeePublic recently added pillows, totes and tapestries to their already long list of products that you can get Let's Voltron or Voltron designs on. Here is a link to that store:

    https://www.teepublic.com/user/letsvoltron?ref_id=5313&ref_type=aff

Our next podcast will have special guests AJ LoCascio (Lotor) and Neil Kaplan (Zarkon) in a Father and Son Podcast for the AGES! Lotor vs Zarkon! Let's see if these two can get along and answer all the fan questions we asked you to send into us. There will be a random winner picked from all the entries, and that winner will receive the 2 signed lithographs we mentioned above. Good luck!

As always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!

Eye of the Storm Review with Irene

Eye of the Storm Review with Irene

Irene Fernández joins Marc and Greg to review Voltron Legendary Defender Season 2, Episode 5: Eye of the Storm. And Marc and Greg find out that Irene has a lot of real-life experiences that match with what the characters are going through in this episode. After the episode review, Marc and Greg preview episode 100 of the podcast, and let fans know how they can be on it, and win Voltron Swag!

People who have listened to the podcast will remember we interviewed Irene at the Voltron Collective Party at NYCC back in October of 2016. This time, you get to hear Irene clearly, without all the background music playing, and you'll learn she's just full of interesting tidbits that really help in the review of "Eye of the Storm", especially that she's actually lived through hurricanes in her native Puerto Rico. We had a lot of fun going through Coran having the 'slipperies', Pidge learning Altean, Keith and Lance's visit to the pool, and Hunk making Scaultrite cookies.

Here are some screenshots from "Eye of the Storm":

Our next podcast episode will be our 100th podcast for Let's Voltron: The Official Voltron Podcast!!

Voltron @ WonderCon - Panel and More

Voltron @ WonderCon - Panel and More

WonderCon attendee Nicole(Das_Hazel on Twitter) joins Marc and Greg to cover the Voltron Legendary Defender panel that occurred on Sat., April 1, 2017. You'll hear the complete audio from the panel, captured by our friend, Dani DeWald. There will be lots of commentary around everything that happened during the panel, and we'll conclude with a few things that happened at WonderCon, other than the panel, and give you info on how to enter to win a signed lithograph from all 8 participants of the panel.

During the Voltron Legendary Defender panel, each of the voice actors, Tyler Labine (Hunk), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Pidge), Josh Keaton (Shiro), Kimberly Brooks (Allura), and Jeremy Shada (Lance), talked about their character's story arc and how it may have changed from Season 1 to Season 2, and all the panelists show clips from their favorite moments from Season 2. Joaquim Dos Santos and Lauren Montgomery (Executive Producers) announced that Season 3 is coming, but no specific date is set yet.

There are two clips about Prince Lotor. The first is an April Fools joke played on the audience. The second is a clip that shows images of Galra forces, with an audio overlay of Prince Lotor talking. So, the audience was able to hear Lotor's voice, but we haven't seen the character, nor do we know who the voice actor is that plays him.

The moderator announced several things that were coming up for Voltron Legendary Defender, including a mash-up collaboaration with online game, Puzzle and Dragons (available now), a Kids Meal Promotion with special Voltron Legendary Defender toys at Burger King (available now), Pidge's Birthday on April 3rd with a special Facebook LIVE Q&A with Bex Taylor-Klaus, the Voltron84 release of 12 hand-picked episodes of Voltron: Defender of the Universe on Netflix (available now), Sticker Packs for IOS (iPhone/iPad iMessage app), where you can send stickers to your friends through text messages, and a new mini-series of Voltron Legendary Defender Comics is coming from Lion Forge Comics on Wednesday, April 26th.

There rest of the panel was a Q&A session for fans to ask questions, and for each person that asked a question, Head Writer Tim Hedrick gave out signed story cards used to develop the actual episodes from the show.

Marc and Greg also talked about their Griffith Observatory visit, where Emily Eiden (voice of Shay) works, the Hollywood sign, and a dinner with podcast guest Shannon Muir, her husband Kevin, Dani DeWald and Shambhavi Kadam, Marc's wife Kim, and Greg and Marc.

If you listen to the end of the podcast, you'll hear how you can enter into a raffle to win a signed lithograph of Blade of Marmora Keith, designed by Joaquim Dos Santos and signed by all 8 people who were on the panel.

As Always, Thanks for Listening! Let's Voltron!!

Christine Bian (Prop & BG Design Supervisor) Interview

Christine Bian (Prop & BG Design Supervisor) Interview

Voltron Legendary Defender Prop and Background Design Supervisor Christine Bian joins Marc and Greg to talk about designing props and backgrounds, including Voltron and each of the 5 Lions. Marc and Greg also review Playmates Toys Voltron Legendary Defender toy line, which we now have in hand. And we conclude with a very special message from the Voltron Legendary Defender Voice Cast.

Christine Bian had previously worked on The Legend of Korra with this same crew that now works on Voltron Legendary Defender. She tells us the story about reuniting with the Korra team to come together to design our favorite giant robot.

Christine appeared on Super Fan Builds, which we talked about on our 68th episode. Custom Built Voltron Lion Bikes were built for a Voltron Super Fan and his son. You can catch our coverage of that HERE.

Marc and Greg review several Voltron toys from the Playmates Toys Voltron Legendary Defender toy line which will appear on store shelves on January 1, 2017. Marc and Greg will be recording video reviews on our YouTube Channel.

Here are some of those toys, which we talked about in our podcast with Jeff Trojan, VP of Marketing at Playmates Toys:

We want to thank Doran for being our Voltron Fan Spotlight in this episode. Doran is on Twitter @striderincident

Thanks, Doran, and good luck in your Bio-Tech Studies!

Finally, this episode has a special "Thank you" to all the Voltron fans from the voice actors that play your favorite characters from Voltron Legendary Defender. Here is a photo of most of the voice actors that were at WonderCon this year, where everyone first fell in love with this great cast.
