In the Summer of 2018 recreational swimmers found a duffel bag containing a severed arm in the Kern River near Bakersfield California. Around the same time three families had come together in an effort to locate their loved ones or find justice for them. The three were Micah Holsonbake, James Kulstad and Baylee Despot and were either missing, dead or missing and feared to be dead. These cases are all related. Please help. There is a reward set up for information.

November  2015: A young girl is abducted during a youth football game at a high school in Allen County, Kentucky. Police are quick to act. They interview as many of the football game attendees that they can round up at the end of the game. Terror and tragedy struck all at once for this once tight knit community. For every parent and child of Allen County the new sentiment of the community was perfectly expressed in a newspaper headline that read “Safe Feeling Gone.”

From the Bauer of a Larch in Autumn (Mental Health) - Story #12

From the Bauer of a Larch in Autumn (Mental Health) - Story #12

Avery is about to turn 28, which means that soon she'll have lived longer than her father, the legendary rock-star Kash Bauer, ever did. She's been dealing with that fact all year, and this morning she can't seem to escape it. By the boughs of a larch in autumn, Avery Bauer seeks the answers to her questions. Dealing with depression, mania, and suicide, this is a story about mental health, family, and the healing power of closure. This episode is dedicated to the memory of my friend, M.S.

CW: mental health, suicide, reference to drug use

Stories from the Hearth is an experimental storytelling experience ft. truly original fiction and thoughtfully produced soundscapes. Part 2 of 2

This week in the Garage we review the still unsolved homicide of Jennifer Medernach. It has now been twenty years since the day that Jennifer’s mother reported her missing. 14 year old Jennifer Medernach left after an argument with her mother. She was spotted several times over the course of the next few days, still in the families’ neighborhood. But the story turned to tragedy when her body was found in a creek several days after being reported missing. This case is still very active and getting some justice for Jennifer is still very likely. Anyone with information should reach out to the Clay County Sheriff’s Office @ 904-264-6512.

Lessons from High Mountains | Satyabrata Dam

Lessons from High Mountains | Satyabrata Dam

Satyabrata Dam is a globetrotting thrill-seeker and a die-hard adrenalin junkie. At the age of 10 when he stepped on his first Himalayan Glacier and looked up awestruck at the peak, he was about to attempt, Satyabrata knew then that he was born to climb and the mountains of this world would become his home, friends, and family. Since then he has been climbing and exploring all the mountain ranges across the globe and beyond.

Over the past 35 years, some of the things Satyabrata has done include:

    • Climbed the highest peaks of all the 7 continents, including Mt Everest (seven summits)
    • Skied to the North and South Poles
    • Climbed the second highest peaks of 5 continents (I am one of the three people in the world to have done this)
    • Climbed more than 350 peaks worldwide
    • Walked the length of Africa from Tunisia to South Africa
    • Traversed the ancient Silk Route from Mongolia to Istanbul
    • Skied across the Greenland ice cap
    • Visited 146 countries and climbed to the highest spot of nearly all

Following his passion, Satyabrata became the only person in the world to have successfully led expeditions to the three poles (Mt Everest, North, and South Poles) and the first submariner in the world to do so as well. For 22 years he was a submariner in the Indian Navy and has now taken voluntary retirement to devote more time to his adventures.

LeeAnna Warner was just 5 years old when she went missing from her neighborhood in Chisholm, Minnesota back in 2003. LeeAnna was last seen walking home from a friend’s house, which was a block and a half from the Warner residence. LeeAnna went to play with a friend at 4:30pm but no one was home. LeeAnna was last seen walking on Southwest Second or Third Street, westbound between 5 and 5:15pm on June 14th, 2003. The Chisholm Police department believe that LeeAnna was the victim of a rare “Stranger Child Abduction.” At the time of her disappearance LeeAnna was 3 feet 2 inches tall, 48 lbs., and she was wearing a sleeveless dark demin dress with an attached belt, orange Hanes underwear and a flower shaped earring with a red garnet.
