What can the archetype of Jupiter in Aries teach us about our inner teacher and our inner child? What does it mean to accept the responsibility of teaching what ourselves how to be our own advocate? How do we work with our potential? 

From December 20, 2022 to May 16, 2023, Jupiter is in Aries. To honor the halfway point of this transit, I invited my dear friend, Shahir Shukor aka. Suprasensory Shahir to discuss their thoughts and reflections on what this transit can bring for us.

Shahir is a fellow Gemini Moon and we covered a wide range of topics in this conversation. We discussed the archetype of Jupiter in Aries, its contrasts with Jupiter in Pisces (which we’ve been swimming in for some time), and how the desires of our inner youth can be our inner teachers.

We also discussed Shahir’s relationship with spirit guides and angels, how their spirituality and queerness intersects and interacts, and the bridge role that the spirit worker plays in sessions between the seen and the unseen realms.

What questions are most relevant to us in 2023, given its astrology? How do we come into right relationship with astrological insights about the future? What do we need to consider when crafting intentions and resolutions for the coming year?

I'm giddy with excitement to share this conversation with my mentor Diana Rose Harper. Diana's approach to astrology is poetic and expansive, while also visceral and thought-provoking. It feels like a true gift to share our conversation about the major astrological transits of 2023 (spoiler alert: there are quite a few!).

We discussed the topics of how to approach astrological transits as well as New Year resolutions and intentions, what health entails, and honoring our humanity, while also understanding our place in the greater web of life.

We also explored the astrology of 2023 by way of its seismic signatures: Mars and Mercury retrogrades at the start of the year, Saturn in Pisces and Pluto in Aquarius, the nodes shifting into Aries-Libra axis, Mercury retrogrades in earth signs, and Venus retrograde in Leo. 

Trigger warning: We discussed food, diet culture, and school trauma as pertains to feelings of not-enoughness. We also used tons of strong language here.

Ep 52 - Winter Solstice and Capricorn New Moon

Our last episode of the year!

In this episode Cory introduces the sign of Capricorn and welcomes the winter solstice and new moon. This is an astrology packed show and Cory covers the next two weeks of astro-weather, plus shares a new moon Capricorn playlist. To start, the astrology of this week includes:  Venu’s square to Chiron, Jupiter’s ingress into Aries, the sun’s ingress into Capricorn, new moon Capricorn, Chiron’s station direct, plus a harmonious aspect between Venus and Uranus. This week is a great week for relationships to take a turn for the better. 

This week also marks the winter solstice. The celebration of the return of light. On Wednesday the 21st, the sun ingresses into Capricorn marking the shortest day of the year. From here forward days will gradually get longer. 

The Capricorn new moon on Friday the 23rd, great for initiating something new. This is prime time to begin something that you want to endure the test of time. Because of a square to Jupiter, this new endeavor will begin with an extra boost of energy. 

Next week, Mercury stations retrograde in Capricorn (29th). Very quickly after it’s station, Venus will meet up with Mercury. In the show Cory describes how this is like Venus coming along and giving Mercury a hug.

• Jupiter transits can last just a couple of months or about 9 months.
• Jupiter has dual rulership of Pisces and Sagittarius and co-rules Pisces with Neptune.
• Currently Jupiter is in Pisces. Dates: May 13, 2021-July 28, 2021; Dec 29, 2021-May 10, 2022,  Oct 28-Dec 20, 2022. 
• Jupiter enters Aries intermittently in 2022 then continues in 2023. Dates: May 10 - Oct 28, 2022, then Dec 20, 2022 - May 16, 2023
• Jupiter and Neptune are conjunct this year on April 12 at 24 deg. Pisces. This will be in influence mid March - mid May, and is significant as the co-rulers of Pisces are at home in Pisces, magnifying the themes of this sign.
