18WT #046: The NFL, Hoops, Daytona and More! from our LIVE Stream 2-21-2022

18WT 046:  On this episode we talked about the NFL, Hoops, Daytona and More.

NFL -  Antonio Brown vs the Tampa Bay Bucs … 2 months since the Jets game where Brown took his shirt off while leaving the field and the receiver still seems as mad as ever about being dumped.  Brown took to social media on Monday to lodge another complaint against his former team. This time around, not only did the receiver throw the organization under the bus, but he also pinned some blame on Tom Brady for not throwing him the ball in Tampa Bay's infamous game against the Jets.

Here's what Brown posted to Instagram on Monday (via the Tampa Bay Times):   He blamed the Buccaneers for his injury: "They tried to hurt me intentionally. Sent me out there after knowing I was still hurt."  He says that Brady lied to him: "Tom said he would throw it if I came to play hurt, I came. He didn't throw it, imagine being hurt, having to play through this and being lied (to) too."  He continues to insist that Bruce Arians made him play hurt: "Coach said if I couldn't run on this, get the f--k out of there."  “Fuck all you M-F” “still caint (sic) stop me @nfl”  the Buccaneers coach has denied that version of events.   BTW…He walked off because he was told, come play and you will get the ball.  And he hadn’t.  Question answered.

EP 51 - Chris Hunter, Director of Basketball Operations, University of Michigan

EP 51 - Chris Hunter, Director of Basketball Operations, University of Michigan

    Coach Chris Hunter,
In this episode, you’ll hear from Chris Hunter. Chris is currently the Director of Basketball Operations for Coach Juwan Howard at the University of Michigan. Chris is in year eight with the Wolverines. And, Chris has had the opportunity to work for both Coach Howard and Coach John Beilein. As you soon will hear, Chris is a Michigan Man. A graduate of Michigan and a four-year player at Michigan, Chris embarked on a professional basketball career that was a product of massive determination to get to his ultimate dream: that is, playing in the NBA. After stops in Switzerland, Poland, and Belgium, Chris returned to the United States to play with the NBA Development League's Fort Wayne Mad Ants. And in 2009, he was named to the 2009 NBADL All-Star Team. Through endless hard work and massive self-belief, Chirs participated in two training camps with the New York Knicks. And, during the 2009-10 season, Chris made it to the NBA. Coach Hunter played in 60 games, starting nine, with the NBA's Golden State Warriors. After his professional career was over, Chris instantly knew that he wanted to give back and do the same that so many coaches in his own life had done for him. In this conversation, Chris depicts so many interesting behind-the-scenes facts that confirm why Coach Howard’s Wolverines were Big 10 Champions and an Elite 8 team last season. Coach Hunter’s perspective on the importance of details and culture will, for sure, have you evaluating your own coaching philosophy. After listening to Coach Hunter, you will appreciate that this is a man of deep thought and introspective. Coach Hunter’s thoughts on the “big picture” are as good as anything that has been shared on this podcast. Trust me, this is a must-listen. Whether you are in competitive athletic leadership or leading your office or leading your own family, Chris’s comments on this topic are simply terrific. As a matter of fact, the last ten minutes of this action-packed leadership-driven podcast are so good. And guess what? Chris is as humble as they come. To me, this podcast is evident why Chris Hunter is adored by his co-workers and players at the University of Michigan. I am so fortunate to share a small part of his coaching story.

Juwan Howard heard something that pissed him off in the Big Ten Quarterfinal win vs Maryland.  Got ejected.  He'll be back at em in the semifinals.
Kansas and UVA both out of the Big12 and ACC tournaments respectively because of Covid-19.   Should the rest of the field UNC, FSU and GT be worried?  This could affect March Madness.  I hope not.
Trey Lance Pro Day today and he threw a dime and looks like he put on a lot of good size.  Wondering where he will he end up on NFL Draft day.   Jets had a contingent there today.   With the #2 pick do they get a new QB or keep Darnold?  That is the million dollar question.

JJ Watt to the Cards.  Did anyone see that coming?  Money grab to me.  So many contenders that he could have gone to instead of Arizona.  Not a fan of Kliff Kingsbury either.
Knicks 18-17 this season haven't been over .500 after 35 games since 2013-14.  Spike Lee is excited so I'm excited.
Michigan Men's basketball is now #2 in the country.  Juwan Howard if some of your greatness could transfer over to the football program that would be so awesome.
