    Kierkegaard's Faith: Irrational or Supra-Rational?

Join me in a thought-provoking exploration of Kierkegaard's philosophy as we delve into the question of whether his faith is rational. In this analysis, we examine Kierkegaard's concept of faith, exploring its rationality and the role it plays in his works. Gain insights into Kierkegaardian faith through a rational assessment of his religious existentialism. Is Kierkegaard's faith reasonable? Let's unravel the debate between faith and reason in the context of Kierkegaard's profound views on the nature of faith.

    Episode overview:

Amy-Lee Bowler is a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Bond in Australia. Her research seeks to understand the current practice pathways and subsequent dietary management used by sports dietitians when assessing and managing energy availability in athletes.

    Episode highlights:

(25:45) Personalization of blood glucose: new study on standard glucose levels in athletes, “metabolic flexibility”, lipid oxidation, tighter glucose control in endurance athletes, intensity, duration, diet, and training level all change blood glucose

(35:41) CGMs for identifying acute low energy availability: subjective assessments might be more valuable, examples

(55:30) CGMs are not tools for athletes: it is difficult for athletes to determine anything useful from the data, examples, currently CGMs must be used with practitioners

THE EXORCIST & THE WAILING: Episode 113: Mom's Picks: Possession: Believe Women!

    WoHos!

This week we look at two horror classics about possession: THE EXORCIST from the US & THE WAILING from South Korea.
We like this pairing because we find divergence in parenting and the nature of the devil depicted in each.

In Mom & Mac  chat, we talk about Mac's cat pooping, Mom half remembering Vonnegut, Mom overriding her social anxiety, tricks we use to trick our brains, what to do when we hear things we can[t explain in the house, cat ghosts, the motivation of ghosts, our mutual love for Boots Riley. I don't know why you would want to skip Mom & Mac chat, but if you do, skip to 13:16.

Want to guest with us? Have a suggestion for a guest or a film or topic? Please get in touch!

We love you, WoHos! DON'T go into the basement!

The Story of Rock and Roll: S6E26

Episode 26 of season 6 went out live at 19h00 on 29 June 2023 on Rebel Rock Radio. The show kicked off with Buffalo Springfield and ‘For What Its Worth’, a track that Rush’s Alex Lifeson says he most wishes he had written. It made sense to then go straight into a song he did write, Rush with Freewill.  There is plenty to get excited about on this show, a good mix of old, new, heavy, and light.  Check the artists featured below to get the playlist, it's in order so you kind find things fairly easily.

The new releases included another track from Jelly Roll off his Whitsitt Chapel album which I predict is going to go straight to the top of the charts, another track off Extreme’s latest album Six. and then 'Hearing Voices' off the Foo Fighters latest release But Here We Are.

The Immortals featured W.A.S.P. and their magnificent 'Chainsaw Charlie (Murders In the New Morgue)' off The Crimson Idol, one of the finest concept albums ever released by a metal band.

This week's Ultimate Challenge looked at 2018.  The choices were Greta Van Fleet – Anthems of a Peaceful Army, Halestorm – Vicious, Black Label Society – Grimmest Hits, and Judas Priest – Firepower.  We threw in Shinedowns Attention Attention for a bit of fun.

Artists Featured:  Buffalo Springfield, Rush, Ted Nugent, Deep Purple, KISS, Kissing Dynamite, Dee Snider & George Lynch, Mr. Big Motörhead, Onslaught, Boom, Korn, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Foghat, The Lazys, Danko Jones, White Zombie, Doomsday outlaw, Jelly roll, Tom petty, Volbeat, U.D.O., Ayron Jones, W.A.S.P., Greta Van Fleet, Halestorm, Black Label Society, Judas Priest, Shinedown, Extreme, Foo Fighters, Butch Walker, Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Van Halen
