Genesis 31 - Jacob heads home

Genesis 31 - Jacob heads home

One of the amazing things about Jacob's flight is that we see that Jacob has made spiritual progress. He is now utterly faithful to God. He begins obediently and does not waver. Here this habitual deceiver is honest and rightly declares his integrity before Laban. Most significantly, this chronically self-sufficient man gives all the credit to God.
See how Jacob begins changing and be encouraged as we read Genesis 31!

    Genesis 29 and 30

    Genesis 29 and 30

I find myself thinking poorly of Jacob and his wives in these chapters and then, I catch myself and wonder how can I? I'm an extremely flawed person too! I have sinned and deceived in my life, so who am I to look down on the behavior of others!? Jacob and his family are a work in progress, just like me. And just like Jacob and his family, God loves me and still works in my life. Join me in reading Genesis 29 and 30 and be encouraged!

The Sabbath School Lesson study guide can be found here:
    https://ssnet.org/lessons/22b/less09m.html

The title of this quarter's theme is: Genesis: The Book of the Beginning

Genesis provides us with the only authentic account of how life came to be on planet earth, how sin originated here, and what God plans to do about it.  Creation, the Fall, and the Redemption are all covered here. This is a foundational book, and sets in place many principles for understanding the rest of God’s Word.

During many of our podcasts, you will hear us make reference to “The Key Principles of Effective Bible Study,”  a document which outlines core concepts shown in the scriptures that will help you better understand many Biblical themes and doctrines.  We have done a whole podcast series on these principles which  can be found here.

Lastly, we recommend that you check out https://TrueWisdom.buzzsprout.com for additional Bible Study podcasts, covering many different Bible topics, and done in a slightly different format from the podcasts on this channel.

    But God...Present in the Workplace

We are continuing with our But God...scripture moments. We are still in Genesis with Jacob and Laban (Father-in-law) who has tricked Jacob into working for him for over 20 years. Jacob has not been treated well and Laban was not a good boss. Take a look at Genesis 31:42.
