Let's (Re)Watch: Gilmore Girls- Forgiveness and Stuff

Welcome to Let’s ReWatch it Again, I’m Jourdan and… “There’s a burger with a face.”

Today we are rewatching Gilmore Girls season 1 episode 10, Forgiveness and Stuff. Yes, this is our third Gilmore Girls episode. I told y’all, I rewatch my favorite shows over and over again and it’s December so I’m hitting up all my favorite Christmas episodes!

This episode catches our girls right on the tail of Rory’s first school dance with Dean. The two of them are officially boyfriend and girlfriend, and they accidentally slept on a bean bag chair at Miss Patty’s Dance studio. Nothing happened! Truly, nothing happened. However, Emily and Lorelai got into a huge fight upon waking up to find Rory still not home.

Then, Lorelai and Rory fought. None of the Gilmore Girls are speaking and it’s time for Emily’s annual Christmas party with the infamous apple tarts. Lorelai refuses to go and in her absence Richard is rushed to the hospital.

    Let's (Re)Watch: Parenthood - Halloween Episode!

    Let's (Re)Watch: Parenthood - Halloween Episode!

Today we are rewatching Parenthood season two episode six, Orange Alert. The Halloween episode! We've got Amelia Earhart, Pocahontas, Evil Knievel, a beauty queen, and a cockroach? Okay.

Parenthood aired on NBC as an ensemble TV show about the Bravermans. The Bravermans are a family with four adult children who are navigating life as adults with families of their own while still being incredibly connected to one another.

You might recognize Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls! She plays the second born of the Braverman adult children as a single mother with two teenaged kids. If you've never seen Parenthood before don't worry, I do my best to bring you right into the swing of the action.

Now, before we continue I want to have a small side note here: in the first season of the show Max is diagnosed with Asperger’s Syndrome, it’s on the spectrum of autism. As of 2022, the term Asperger’s is no longer used as a title of diagnosis to describe high functioning autism.

For Max, autism presents for him as difficulties with social norms and behaviors as well as high intelligence and hyper-fixations and receptive behaviors. He has trouble with any type of change in routine, planned activity, and has difficulty understanding social cues and tone in language.

One of the great things about Parenthood is this who tackles real life issues and struggles and doesn't shy away from hard conversations. I love it!

    Let's (Re)Watch: Gilmore Girls Season 2 Premiere!

    Let's (Re)Watch: Gilmore Girls Season 2 Premiere!

    Hey Y'all,

This is a bonus episode because I can't help it! This is the first episode of season 2 of Gilmore Girls! If you've never seen the show don't worry, you're going to feel like you're watching the episode right along with me.

In the season 2 premiere of Gilmore Girls Lorelai has a big decision to make while surrounded by a thousand yellow daisies. Rory and Dean are back together again, much to Richard and Emily's surprise. Lane's parents decide she will spend her summer in Korea, or maybe the rest of her life? It's unclear. It's summer in Stars Hollow but instead of bathing suits, cookouts, and ice cream we've got coffee, Luke's Diner, and Friday night dinners.

    Gilmore Girls: A Retrospective

    Gilmore Girls: A Retrospective

This episode is a long time coming, an in-depth look at one of our favourite shows, the aesthetically cozy 'Gilmore Girls!'
Cousin Mary is back as guest-host as we debate and revisit key elements throughout the series, exploring both the original run and four part 'A Year in the Life' revival on Netflix, the devoted fandom, and of course behind the scenes gossip; including potential cast drama and the much discussed exit of showrunner's Amy Sherman-Palladino and Daniel Palladino.
Along the way we explore the love interests (a game of F, marry, kill for Dean/Jess/Logan was inevitable), talk problematic aspects of the show, the rumoured rift between Lauren Graham and Scott Patterson, and whether we'll get more episodes. And heads up, there is a special giveaway we announce!
For a more dynamic experience, follow us on Instagram @haveyouheardpodcast. So many of our episodes, including this one, are shaped through discussions with listeners, which you can revisit through our IG highlights. We also post cool articles, tv/film recommendations, and generally love to break down notable cultural moments.

Luke & Lorelai: "Oy With the Questions Already!" (Mailbag Episode)

This is our final episode talking ‘ship about Luke and Lorelai and it is a MAILBAG episode filled with questions from you, our listeners.

You all asked some fantastic questions so in this episode we’ll cover everything from plot holes, to who we’d sleep with, to systemic racism in Stars Hollow.

We also discuss THE topic you’ve all been asking about: who do we think RORY should end up with?

Liberties are taken and we’ve sprinkled some personal anecdotes throughout this episode including our experience meeting Milo Ventimiglia on a lawn and who we claimed died in season seven.

Shoutout to the listeners who trusted US to give them advice. We round out the episode by giving our opinions about specific romantic situations our listeners find themselves in. True to brand, we leave them with a television romance angled response.

This episode concluded our Luke and Lorelai season, and thus is the last episode with the lovely Katie Buderwitz. However, don’t you worry there is SO MUCH television to discuss and Katie will soon be back to talk astrology and reference philosophers while talking about hunky fictional men.

Tune in next week for our NEW SEASON of Talking ‘Ship featuring a new couple with a new set of shi** to discuss.
