Lessons in Leadership, Equality and Empowerment: Dagmar Symes

Lessons in Leadership, Equality and Empowerment: Dagmar Symes

This next episode keeps within the maritime industry but turns toward an inspiring female leader, Dagmar Symes.

Dagmar's inspiring leadership journey has been rooted in values instilled within her at a young age, such as resilience, respect and discipline. Her early lessons laid the groundwork for the leader she has become, progressing from the General Manager of Hill Robinson Estates to now the CEO Hill Robinson Estates Saudia.

Dagmar is a prime example of an astute female leader making her mark in the luxury hospitality sector. In this episode, we discuss female empowerment and why gender should never come into play in identifying a good leader.

Full of valuable lessons and takeaways, Dagmar talks about how there is not a one-size-fits-all approach to being a successful leader; however, maturity and failure are huge elements of success.

Dagmar is now pursuing a community-led purpose, striving to give back and transfer her knowledge to help guide the new generation.

Her empathetic nature and nurturing skills in looking after and collaborating with teams are inspirational lessons in leadership, so tune in for this as well as her insights into the developing hospitality landscape of Saudi Arabia.

Perko's Podcast: Episode 21 Part Two: Learning How To Take A Break w/ Sean Seay
    Welcome back to Perko's Podcast!

Today on the podcast is one of my very good friends, Sean Seay. Sean was the facilitator of a monthly conference call that I was part of for many years. Each month I looked forward to the calls that he would facilitate. I have learned so much about life and leadership from him. He truly is a leader who intentionally cares for his soul and the souls of those around him whilst reaching some significant goals along the way.

Sean Seay is the lead pastor of Athens Church in Athens, GA. Sean and his wife Bonnie met and were married during their college years. They have three amazing children, Boone, Bryson, and Lola. Sean is a pastor and a communicator, but has a real passion for leading the church. As you will hear in today’s conversation, Sean’s passion for leading well at work almost destroyed his home life.

We are continuing our conversation today. If you missed part one last week, make sure you take a listen to catch up!

Keith credits Daniel Lurie, Chairman of the San Francisco Super Bowl Host Committee, and Jed York, CEO of the San Francisco 49ers, as critical to his hire as Super Bowl CEO. Throughout his career, Keith has overseen sporting events including the Olympics, FIFA World Cup and PGA Tour in dozens of countries around the world. He cut his teeth at an agency working with Gatorade to create the iconic Be Like Mike ads with Michael Jordan.
