#13. How Decentralized Marketing Can Help Large Businesses Break Into New Markets

#13. How Decentralized Marketing Can Help Large Businesses Break Into New Markets

Decentralized marketing may sound jargony, but it's real, it works, and it may be the answer for your business as you look to market new products or offerings in new categories.

The most successful way to influence a given market is to understand the needs and pains of the market and to speak directly to these emotions. Obvious, but accurate.

This becomes incredibly difficult, however, for large organizations that speak to hundreds of markets and across various verticals. Think about a large consulting firm—they’re known for accounting but want to break into healthcare. Can they leverage their existing brand recognition in a new space? If so, how?

This episode explores how decentralized marketing can help businesses reach new audiences by telling better stories with smaller, specialized creative teams.

    Carmelle Kendall

    Carmelle Kendall

Carmelle Kendall is a true Atlanta business success story! Not only is she a talented creative director and the co-founder of popular paper goods company Neighborly, but now there’s another title she can add to her list of accolades — children’s book illustrator for “Your Freedom, Your Power: A Kid’s Guide to the First Amendment”!

We talked about how she got involved with the book, and she spoke about getting her start in the advertising industry in NYC, and later in Atlanta with rebranding the well-known hamburger chain Krystal. She also shared how she pivoted her creative interests into her current business, and she gave some great advice for others who are looking to do the same.

Carmelle’s story is one of ambition, determination, and the triumphs of pursuing your passions!

#4. Know Your Role: Bball, Childhood Trauma, and The Key to Creating Relevance with Marketing

This week Nate and Brandon go a few layers deeper on storytelling by sharing tragic (and heroic) tales about the basketball days of their youth, and highlight the guides that helped them overcome their pain and feel like heroes.

Better yet, this episode demonstrates how YOU can help your clients overcome their obstacles—and become their own heroes.

We dig into being a helpful guide that will serve your market better than being the hero, and how to use storytelling as a catalyst for positioning your brand internally and externally.
