Finding your purpose
Finding your purpose is deeply a personal journey that we could only attain if we pay attention and if we build personal and intimate relationship with our maker. If you wanna know the function of that thing that you bought then what you always do is to read the manufacturer's manual. Same with us humans, if we wanna know what on earth are we here for then we must read the word of God.

Episode 585: FULL: Grace, Faith, & Obedience: Understanding the Relationship - Part 2
It's critical to understand three terms if we are going to understand Scripture. Grace, faith, and obedience. In part 1 we defined the terms and saw how the important role obedience has in our faith. Here in part 2 we will continue our discussion of these terms, and solidify their relationship to each other and their relevance to believers, followers of Messiah, today.
Building Loving Friendships by Identifying the Types of Friends We Encounter
I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about friendships. I have some amazing friends, and then there are some I’m not so close with. Others cause drama that I can get caught up in because I want to salvage the relationship.
Then there are friends that support you in everything you do. The best of friends support you and challenge you when you’re on the path.
It's really hard to determine who is going to be that kind of friend. And it’s also hard not to retaliate or retreat when things don’t go our way.
My biggest problem is I think everyone should like me because I’m nice.
God commands us to love one another no matter our feelings. He calls us to love our enemies, which is even harder.
I’ve found there are different types of friends we are in contact with. Once I learned to delineate the types of friends I was able to love more like Christ.
Listen in to hear about the four types of friends.
I have a free download that I think will help you during the week when you feel like you’re completely done!
Episode 556: Answering Your Questions (New Moon, Silent Prayer, Washing Feet, Acoustical Challenges in 1st Century, etc.)
In this video series we want to look at the most common things asked and publicly begin answering your questions for the benefit of everyone to hear and to test themselves. In this presentation we are going to respond to the questions:
- How are we to celebrate and observe the new moons (rosh chodesh)?
- Does God answer silent, or unspoken prayers?
- Is feet washing required on or just before Passover?
- How could 5,000 people hear Messiah talk without technology?
The Ministry of Word and Deed
The Ministry of Word and Deed
Pastor Trinity Opp
1. God’s love is revealed by meeting people’s physical needs. (Acts 3:1-10)
Acts 3:1-10
Peter and John went to the Temple one afternoon to take part in the three o’clock prayer service. As they approached the Temple, a man lame from birth was being carried in. Each day he was put beside the Temple gate, the one called the Beautiful Gate, so he could beg from the people going into the Temple. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for some money. Peter and John looked at him intently, and Peter said, “Look at us!” The lame man looked at them eagerly, expecting some money. But Peter said, “I don’t have any silver or gold for you. But I’ll give you what I have. In the name of Jesus Christ the Nazarene, get up and walk!” Then Peter took the lame man by the right hand and helped him up. And as he did, the man’s feet and ankles were instantly healed and strengthened. He jumped up, stood on his feet, and began to walk! Then, walking, leaping, and praising God, he went into the Temple with them. All the people saw him walking and heard him praising God. When they realized he was the lame beggar they had seen so often at the Beautiful Gate, they were absolutely astounded!
2. God’s plan is revealed by sharing the gospel with words. (Acts 3:11-16)
Acts 3:11-16
They all rushed out in amazement to Solomon’s Colonnade, where the man was holding tightly to Peter and John. Peter saw his opportunity and addressed the crowd. “People of Israel,” he said, “what is so surprising about this? And why stare at us as though we had made this man walk by our own power or godliness? For it is the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—the God of all our ancestors—who has brought glory to his servant Jesus by doing this. This is the same Jesus whom you handed over and rejected before Pilate, despite Pilate’s decision to release him. You rejected this holy, righteous one and instead demanded the release of a murderer. You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead. And we are witnesses of this fact! “Through faith in the name of Jesus, this man was healed—and you know how crippled he was before. Faith in Jesus’ name has healed him before your very eyes.
3. God’s power is revealed by helping people find spiritual healing through faith in Jesus. (Acts 3:17-26)
Acts 3:17-26
“Friends, I realize that what you and your leaders did to Jesus was done in ignorance. But God was fulfilling what all the prophets had foretold about the Messiah—that he must suffer these things. Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah. For he must remain in heaven until the time for the final restoration of all things, as God promised long ago through his holy prophets. Moses said, ‘The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from among your own people. Listen carefully to everything he tells you.’ Then Moses said, ‘Anyone who will not listen to that Prophet will be completely cut off from God’s people.’ “Starting with Samuel, every prophet spoke about what is happening today. You are the children of those prophets, and you are included in the covenant God promised to your ancestors. For God said to Abraham, ‘Through your descendants all the families on earth will be blessed.’ When God raised up his servant, Jesus, he sent him first to you people of Israel, to bless you by turning each of you back from your sinful ways.”
Challenge: Meeting physical needs of people can often afford an opportunity to meet a spiritual need. The gospel can be brought into practically any situation in which we find ourselves. But this requires that we be spiritually in tune to our surroundings, living with open ears and watchful eyes as God gives us opportunity to meet the needs of those around us. Challenge yourself to be on the lookout for ways to be like Jesus to those who cross your path daily.
Episode 529: TE: The Parable of the Dishonest Manager
In the parable of the dishonest manager found in Luke 16:1-13, we learn a few lessons such as needing to be shrewd. Some think Scripture is teaching us to be dishonest? Is that true? Beyond the obvious, what else is it that the Messiah is trying to teach us about how we spend our money, time, and other resources?
