Episode 739: Rob Williams on Dredd's END OF DAYS
Judge Dredd's got a lot going on these days. Mega-City One's famous lawman's been feeling his age. He's also started dreaming, and doesn't care for it. Makes him grouchy.
On today's episode Mike sits down with Dredd writer extraordinaire Rob Williams. His latest collection, "End of Days" hits shelves in the US next week, so we figured it'd be good to catch up. It's Dredd vs. the apocalypse, and he's got his sights set on killing Death!

I got an email from Iona last week. They said they are about to release final CD. The band is not breaking up, but the changing music industry is forcing them to change how they release music, or in their case, stop releasing it.
This is a good time to point out that if you enjoy the music of bands in this podcast, there are several important things you can to do. If you still buy CDs, buy one from one of these bands. If not, buy downloads or band merchandise. Or if you're streaming music (outside of this podcast, of course), then follow the bands on Spotify or whatever streaming website they prefer.
Finally, I'm planning to do more Spotify promotions. So if you have any Celtic music playlists on Spotify, I'd love to hear from you. Drop me an email.
If you want to find 11 more ways you can help support these bands, go to songhenge.com. This simple easy list will do a lot to help your favorite bands succeed.

James Slaven emailed a couple photos regarding the Thin Veil episode: "Hey, Marc! Great episode this week! Halloween is my favorite time of the year, and you outdid yourself on the song picks for this year's Halloween episode. Listened to it while baking my annual loaf of Barm Brack, the traditional Irish bread of Halloween, although without the bits and bobs inside, as no one eats it but me. I also found a Barm Brack drink recipe that I tried. Irish whiskey, egg, all-spice and more. Interesting! Not sure if I'll make it again. Keep up the great work!"
I got an anonymous text: "Good morning Marc from aboard the MV Coho as I head over to Victoria BC listening to the great pre-Halloween episode. Thanks for the great music and adding to the beauty of the trip."
Patty Bolan emailed a picture: "Hey! My name is Patty, and I've been playing traditional Irish music for most of my life. For the past three and a half months, I've been on the Pacific Crest Trail hiking from Canada to Mexico. I have under 500 miles, or about two weeks, left now. I've started listening to the Irish and Celtic music podcast, and it's so amazing finding new music while hiking and hearing familiar names and people I'm friends with. One year ago, Natalie MacNeil changed everything about her life. Moving to a new country? Check. Ending an 11-year relationship? Check. Doing it with grace and vulnerability? You bet. Episode 373: The 2000 AD Thrill Power Festival
The boys are back this week, as Mike returns to the show from his sojourn abroad with thrilling tales of splendor seen and treasures purchased! He goes deep-dive into his experience at last weekend's 2000AD 40th Anniversary Thrill Festival, both from behind the microphone and from wandering the convention floor. What kind of shindig does Tharg throw for his favorite Earthlets? How far does the American dollar go in picking up original Thrill-art? When was the last convention you went to where beer-related art accidents were a hazard to consider? Who was the artist 'get' of the show? All that, plus the differences in original art ideology on either side of the Atlantic, the many medias of Mark Buckingham, Rick Veitch tremor meeting Dave Gibbons sheen, recapturing comic shop wonder, solving distribution woes, and much more on today's episode!

Episode 66: Speaking Wine With Karen MacNeil
Karen MacNeil has won an Emmy as well as James Beard and International Wine and Spirits awards, and this week she joins the Wine Two Five Podcast ladies from Napa. You may know her as author of the best-selling Wine Bible, and TIME Magazine calls her “America’s Missionary of the Vine.” She was generous with her time, humor, insight and graciousness – as well as honesty about what she won’t write about – and we hope you enjoy this episode as much as we enjoyed producing it. Yes, listeners, you are in for a treat. Pour a glass of something lovely, sit back and join us for some cool sips with a wine writing icon!
