The Fury taste bitter defeat in the I-15 Rivalry! As the Ron Newman cup rematch headed North to Toyota Arena, it was the San Diego Sockers who claimed an authoritative victory. In the wake of a first half hat trick from Tavoy Morgan, San Diego coasted to a firm grasp on first place in the West. The Fury are left looking in the mirror for answers and up the table at San Diego. Panda & The Dr take us through each resounding blow in a sadly one sided collision of these two MASL titans.

Guess who's back? Back Again!  On this episode of Stryking Fury, Filly and Jonathan sit down via the Zoom universe with returning goalkeeper Chris Toth. Chris tells us about his time on Tacoma, playing on the US Mens National Beach Soccer team, a fun story about his legendary father and of course about how excited he is to be back to Ontario. The MASL Finals are upon us. The Ontario Fury and The San Diego Sockers are set to do battle in Toyota Arena. The rivalry is intense and so is the excitement. On Episode 19, we are doing something a bit different. We are combining forces with Sockers Overtime, the official podcast of the San Diego Sockers hosted by Craig Elsten and Jerry Jimenez. In addition to the 4 of us, we also have Ontario Fury’s Franck Tayou and San Diego Sockers Brian Farber on as well. This is the perfect pod to listen to as you are on your way to arena. In this episode of Stryking Fury, Filly & the Panda break down the matches from the past weekend in Ontario. We also talk about the upcoming playoffs, what it was like being the media team for this 5 day stretch of games, and make sure we give love to everyone who made this March madness melee happen.

The battle for playoff seeding is underway and the Fury are looking to finish off the MASL Regular Season with a first place standing. Episode 14, our Andy Reyes episode has us recapping the Fury's march to the midwest (again) as they look to take on the St. Louis Ambush (again) and the K.C. Comets. This is the team's final set of away matches because a few short days later, Toyota Arena will once again be open for business.

2021 is finally here and hindsight is most certainly 2020. Filly and the Panda give you the first Stryking Fury Episode of 2021.  This is a short and sweet episode. We have a few updates in and around the Ontario Fury that we wanted to share with you. We chat about the new signings the Fury made during the offseason. We chat about what to expect for the month of February. We also talk about the new Fury kits for the 2021 season. On Episode 6 Filly and The Panda get to be in the presence of royalty. We get to chat with "The King", Ontario Fury Forward Franck Tayou. 

There are certain individuals who’s name are synonymous with the sport they play and with the league they are in. When you mention baseball, you think of players like Babe Ruth, Hank Aaron, Barry Bonds. When you think about the NFL, you think about Tom Brady, Russell Wilson to name a few. When talking about the NHL you might think of Wayne Gretzky. When taking about the NBA you think of Kobe Bryant or Michael Jordan or LeBron James. When you think about boxing, you think about Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. Franck is that caliber of a player and that guy when it comes to indoor soccer and especially when it comes to MASL. In 152 games Franck has scored 323 goals. He had a season in which he scored 71. That same season he practically averaged a hat trick per game. Amazing statistics. 

We talk to Franck about his time growing up in Cameroon. We learn about what life was like playing Division 1 soccer in the Big East, when he and his brother, Uzi were members of the West Virgina Mountaineers. We learn about the various clubs Franck played for on his route to indoor soccer stardom. We talk about life in Mexico as a member of Soles de Sonora and the Monterrey Flash, life in the USL, NPSL. We also learn a little about one of his proudest athletic accomplishments when he was able to represent the USMNT Futsal Team. 

We highlight his season with the Fury, what his expectations are, his goal of bringing the Newman Trophy to the Fury and more importantly his passion for humanitarian works. Franck even talks to us about who was the tougher Tayou brother growing up, who his favorite athletes are and who he thinks is the best dressed player in the Fury locker room.
