Your Neighbors Podcast - Ep 1 - Commitment

Your Neighbors Podcast - Ep 1 - Commitment

Welcome to Your Neighbors Podcast, hosted by Nique Williams.

In this episode, we will discuss commitment from biblical and worldly perspectives. We will discuss the biggest commitment that God requires of His children, as well as the areas of our lives that we hesitate to commit to God with.

    Bible Verses:

    Psalm 37:5

    • Commit your way to the Lord: trust in him, and he will act

    • Proverbs 16:3

Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established

    • Revelation 3:15-16

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.

    Coaching Culture with Johnny Murphy

    Coaching Culture with Johnny Murphy

When it comes to coaching a football team, before you can teach x’s and o’s, you must lay a foundation.  A foundation of principles and expectations.  Once the team understands and accepts these values then they learn how each of them plays a crucial role in the process.  That is how coaches create culture.  The values you place within that culture are up to you.

Johnny Murphy has been coaching culture since playing football in college.  He teaches these fundamentals, not only his players but within his own family and his community.  For the past 2 years, he has also been a student, recently completing his MBA.  All this while juggling a full-time career.

Although Coach Murphy gets a lot of praise for his teams’ victories on the field, it’s the coaching he does off the field that has a far more significant impact.  Called to Serve as a man of God, Johnny Murphy teaches so much more than just athletics.  He has continuously served as a leader of young men and for the past several years has taught an early morning scripture study for local high schoolers.

This episode was not due to be released for another week or two but as of today, Bishop Murphy has been asked to coach a much bigger team.  After listening to our conversation, I think you will understand why.  Learn how to create a culture within your own team from my recent conversation with Johnny Murphy.
