The boys try to make sense of Seattle selecting Mark Giordano from Calgary (4:36), and highlight the theme of youthful talent that runs throughout GM Ron Francis' selections (5:20). Josh laments how the past two expansion teams have pouched good young defensemen from his LA Kings, Brayden McNabb to the Knights and now Kurtis MacDermid to the Kraken (6:28). The duo assess the Kraken's chances next season (13:59), and jest about Brandon Tanev's viral headshot (14:43).

Alex flies solo in the first installment of 'Raw Takes', TSP's unfiltered bonus episodes. He bemoans his Montreal Canadiens defeat at the hands of the the "Champa Bay" Lightning, and praises the prowess of goaltenders Carey Price and Conn Smythe winner Andrei Vasilevsky. Alex discusses Lauren Thiesen's thought-provoking article on Defector that ponders how good the Habs truly are, briefly touches on the key decisions GM Marc Bergevin needs to make this offseason, and what the future holds for this upstart team.

Alex, Chris, Jesse, and Josh offer their weekly teaspoon of nonsense. They discuss the improbability of the Habs making the Stanley Cup Final (5:53), Josh breaks down how Montreal defeated Las Vegas (15:22), Hove fires back at Alex's criticism of Marc Bergevin's tenure as general manager and when he drafted Cole Caufield (18:21), and Chris explains why Tampa Bay has to win this Stanley Cup (22:40). The boys talk about how Trae Young's confidence has his Hawks as legitimate title contenders (28:38), the Suns-Clippers WCF (34:03), the Jason Kidd hiring in Dallas prompts a discussion on great players as coaches (35:30), and MLB's 7th no-hitter already (38:31). Longtime NHL player and Head Coach Gerard Gallant joins the Cam and Strick Podcast. For a stretch in his career, he was as good of an all-around player as you'd find in the NHL. He'd team up with the likes of Bob Probert and Joey Kocur, beat the crap out of you, and then bury a game-winner all in the same game. No surprise he's been a great coach only to be unappreciated in his last couple of stops. Florida and Vegas dropped him with virtually no warning and many people would suggest with very little reason as well. He led Vegas to the Stanley Cup final in their inaugural season only to be on the street two years later. Same in Florida where the infamous taxi cab photos were seen worldwide. It won't be long before he's back behind an NHL bench as many have him pegged to land with the expansion Seattle Kraken or back in Detroit with his buddy Steve Yzerman. Chronique sportive avec Jean-François Baril : Danault veut négocier avant le camp d'entraînement. Hudon confirmé à Lausanne. Shapovalov et Raonic passent en demi-finale en Russie. On pourra faire du ski, mais avec bien des consignes.

16h30 - Reprise des actualités avec Mario et Vincent : l'INSPQ défend les mesures prises par le gouvernement. Coup d'État raté à Québec. Trudeau souhaite toujours mettre en place des normes pour les CHSLD. Pfizer prévoit un vaccin pour bientôt. Le trafic aérien augmente tranquillement et une étude sur la transmission dans les avions. La chasse au chauffe-terrasse au Royaume-Uni.

Entrevue avec Yves Juneau, PDG de l’Association des Stations de ski du Québec : les stations de skis seront ouvertes même en zone rouge, mais devront se plier à des conditions sévères.

When you hear the name John Scott what's the first thought that comes to mind? Is it the fact he forced the NHL to scramble so badly to keep him out of the All-Star game they offered him money to stay away? It didn't work and not only did Scott show up to the 2016 NHL All-Star game in Nashville, he took home the MVP, $90,000 and a brand new Honda Pilot. He's currently selling the Pilot by the way. It's an amazing story that you have to hear it straight from him to fully understand. Scott also has a great story as a player and how he developed into one of the top enforcers in the league. His experience being roommates with the late Derek Boogaard and how the trade from Arizona to Montreal went down. The story of how the NHL tried to keep him out of the All-Star game after winning the fan vote is an amazing story to hear, check it out here on this edition of the Cam and Strick Podcast. Oh, and he has an engineering degree from Michigan Tech University. 

It's almost time for hockey season in Smashville! We are just days away from training camp and the start of preseason hockey! We kick into season 2 of Music City Gold talking about Nate Schmidt's PED ban, the Canadiens trading their captain, shockingly, to Vegas for a bag of hockey pucks, and give our Top 5 / Bottom 5 teams of the season. Then as we did last year, we give our Central Division season predictions of how things will shake out in the end. We've missed being behind the mic and talking hockey and we are ready to jump right into the season!
