How to maximize operational efficiencies, avoid feeling like you are being held hostage by a key employee and make onboarding a fun and smooth process by systemizing the processes in your business. Hiring, training, sales, accounting, operations, all key processes of your business, can and more importantly should be systemized. Having documented systems in place makes onboarding and transitions run smoother. Everyone knows where to go and what to do…simply follow the system. Key employees can leave for a few days without chaos. New employees have a resource to turn to instead of having to ask someone how to do everything (or worse, just guess). And the business owner can go on vacation and not have to worry about things falling apart. In fact, Johnette van Eeden did just that – went on vacation for a month during the busiest time of the year and didn’t have to worry because she knew we had the systems and people in place to make it run smoothly.

Most people are familiar with the phrase, “You can have it all.” Some believe this is an accurate possibility; however, having it all isn’t always a possibility for entrepreneurs. You can be a mother/father, wife/husband and business owner, but you can’t do it all by yourself. Apart of growing your business is learning how to delegate responsibilities to others, along with surrounding yourself with trustworthy people. Entrepreneurs need to learn how to compartmentalize their time, while knowing that running your own business is not a nine to five job. Even though it is rewarding to help people and be your own boss, becoming an entrepreneur is not meant for everyone. Running a business requires a lot of time, energy and money as well as juggling multiple roles within a company. Deborah Gregory, former IRS attorney and co-founder of Gregory Law Group, will share with us how she balances her role as a co-founder of a tax law firm, along with her role as a wife and mother to two boys.

Encore: Building a Powerful Network in LinkedIn Builds Your NETWORTH
Thank goodness for the Internet, social media and my favorite networking tool...Linkedin. As a small business owner, it is your responsibility to manage your company, your employees, and to generate business. As all of you do, I juggle many things; one of the most important is lead generation. I have to be sure that among all the other things I do, I keep the leads flowing in. The minute I stop it is disastrous. I have to get connected and stay connected with my clients as well as people who can be my clients. But, I have limited time to do it just like all of you! When I first started my company 21 years ago, I’d attend networking events but these take up a lot of time and I could only effectively connect with about 5 new people in an hour’s time. For me, networking online can be so much more efficient and just as effective. That’s where LinkedIn comes in. In 1 hour I can connect to at least 20 people in a variety of different ways. Learn how to build your your NETWORTH.

Passion must be channeled as a force for the greater good or else it can be counter-productive. How can passion and purpose play a positive role in your business? Tilde Guajardo, Founder & CVO of Womanars, discusses how she identified her own passion and purpose and the process she went through to turn it into a business, and how it has enabled her to become a powerful SOMO (Social & Emotional) Leader, who is having a positive impact in her community and business.
