PLAYOFF PUSH!! Western Conference Wildcard Race + Injuries, Key Signings Making A Difference - Episode 81 of The Pond
What is UP guys! We're back! The playoff race has heated up considerably, and a couple key contenders are facing down the barrel of an early summer golf trip. Can Vegas pull it together in time? Can LA hold on? Are the Arizona Coyotes still a flaming pile of trash? These are the type of hard hitting question the boys tackle this week. With the playoffs around the corner, of course we're starting to see the injuries pile up. Which key injuries do the boys think will make the difference come playoff time, and which teams have the best plug-and-play replacements? Teams signing NCAA talent seem to be doing something right in this regard. As you might be able to tell, we were on a heater this week. Plenty to talk about, and next time you hear from us it'll be playoff prediction time so fasten your seatbelts because the business end of the NHL season is here!

'Raw Takes' | A Kraken Good Team?

'Raw Takes' | A Kraken Good Team?

Alex and Josh bring you a teaspoon of nonsense as they watch and react to the Seattle Kraken's expansion draft. Alex explains how he suffered heart palpitations over the last 24 hours at the thought of his Habs losing Carey Price to the Kraken (1:07), and Josh expounds on his love affair with the Florida Panthers (3:11). The boys try to make sense of Seattle selecting Mark Giordano from Calgary (4:36), and highlight the theme of youthful talent that runs throughout GM Ron Francis' selections (5:20). Josh laments how the past two expansion teams have pouched good young defensemen from his LA Kings, Brayden McNabb to the Knights and now Kurtis MacDermid to the Kraken (6:28). The duo assess the Kraken's chances next season (13:59), and jest about Brandon Tanev's viral headshot (14:43).
