Our guests today is  Julia Funke is a managing attorney at International Legal and Business Services Group LLP, a full-service immigration law firm serving clients across the U.S. She leads the South Carolina office, splitting her time between Chicago and Charleston. She earned her J.D. from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law, after completing a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Translation and Business from Northern Illinois University. With over a decade of experience in this area, Julia lives and breathes immigration law. She specializes in both employment-based and family-based immigration matters, as well as humanitarian relief.  When she’s not practicing law, she’s teaching immigration law at a local public college, hoping to inspire the next generation of immigration advocates.

Our guests today is Trevor White a Marriage Therapist with a Private Practice in Seattle. He specializes in premarital counseling and developed a web-based premarital counseling video series called Launch to Land for couples to be able to access a low-cost and convenient therapy option as they approach their wedding. He also hosts a podcast called Marriage Stories where he interviews real married couples as they discuss their unique success stories in their marriages. When he is not doing therapy he loves playing volleyball, spending time with his wife and kids, and running with his Siberian Husky Athena.

Susan Scherman, a Personal Strategy Consultant that helps people get to the bottom of their issues, then empowers them to discover alternative solutions.

Our guest today is the wedding industry vet, Nora Sheils.

With over 19 years running award-winning planning firm, Bridal Bliss, founder Nora Sheils possesses an intimate grasp on the ins and outs of the wedding industry. In her time working with countless couples and leading a team of 30+ women, she recognized a need for a more effective, streamlined approach to the often-daunting contract and invoice process. Thus, in 2018, Rock Paper Coin was born in partnership with her sister-in-law, Elizabeth, and the two have been committed to bringing together event professionals and couples ever since.

She’s also a well-known and sought-after speaker on national stages including Wedding MBA, Catersource, and NACE Experience.

Her knowledge and contributions have been featured in BRIDES, WeddingWire, Catersource, Special Events, and WeddingIQ. In addition to recognition by Portland Business Journal in its 40 Under 40 series, she also earned a spot in The BizBash 500 for 2021.

In her spare time, Nora can be found spending quality time with her family, often over a long family-style spread of food and a glass of great sparkling wine. She also appreciates the chance to explore the vibrant culture and food scene of the Pacific Northwest, particularly in her beloved hometown of Portland.

We had an amazing conversation about all things event planning, from trends, to the covid downfall and wedding boom happening, to her unprecedented software that helps brides and grooms efficiently expedite the contracting processes, to even the best wedding advice from a 20 year wedding vet.
