#6 Wie erfindet man sich neu? Autor und Musiker Hans Platzgumer zu Gast beim „K“.

H.P. Zinker, die Goldenen Zitronen oder Queens of Japan sind nur einige der zahlreichen Bandnamen, unter denen Hans Platzgumer Musik veröffentlicht hat. Neben dem Musiker Platzgumer kennt man das Multitalent heute hauptsächlich als Schriftsteller, er produziert außerdem Hörspiele, kuratiert Festivals und arbeitet als Remixer. Schon früh wollte Hans Platzgumer die Welt kennenlernen. „Mir ist Innsbruck zu eng geworden – in allen Beziehungen: geografisch durch die Berge, und dann auch diese Engstirnigkeit im Kopf, die damals ganz stark fundiert war.“ Platzgumer wächst im Innsbruck der 1970er Jahre auf und “flüchtet” am Tag nach seiner Matura mit einem Freund auf einem Moped nach Wien – als 17-Jähriger. „Damals war auch die Welt noch anders. Da musste man, wenn man was erleben wollte, in die Großstadt ziehen. Heute ist es durch das Internet eigentlich überall dasselbe. Aber damals war es ein Riesenunterschied, ob du am Land oder in der Großstadt lebst.“ Sein Weg führt ihn weiter nach New York, wo er mit H.P. Zinker zum Rockstar wurde. „Nach dem kometenhaften Aufstieg, kam der kometenhafte Abstieg – innerhalb von fünf Jahren.“ In dieser Folge von “Das K” erzählt uns der Künstler, wie es war, als Minderjähriger in den USA zu leben und wie er Chris Lombardi dazu inspirierte, das Plattenlabel Matador Records zu gründen, auf dem heute Größen wie Interpol oder die Queens of the Stone Age ihr Zuhause haben. Julien Baker feels completely at home in her girlfriend’s arms

Being Queer, Christian and from Memphis seems like an unlikely combination, but 21-year-old singer songwriter Julien Baker embraces all three with pride and ease. [audio_play] Julien says she feels completely at home within her community, her church faith and in her girlfriend's arms. "I just got to the point where I felt like that division of two very essential parts of my personality was not sustainable anymore and I could no longer support the idea that there was a god who could create me to be who I am and to persecute me for it." [image_crop:38067:full] Julien grew up in the thriving Memphis music scene and in a DIY punk community called Smith Seven. It was in these formative years she started her first band called The Star Killers which then became Forrister. In 2014 she recorded her first solo debut album Sprained ankle on 6131 records which gained critical acclaim, and caught the attention of Matador records, to whom she is signed to for her forthcoming sophomore album, rising up and joining the ranks with the likes of Cat Power, Kurt Vile and Perfume Genius.
