Meet Niurka Castaneda
Niurka Castaneda grew up in Cuba and came from a family of entrepreneurs and artists. Her grandfather was a poet, and her parent’s Cuban entrepreneurs. They were very resourceful people, which is why she believes she has always been enterprising and artistic. She loves to talk about art, music, books and all things that provide smiles and hope. She loves to travel the world, learn and go on adventures. She is a Veteran Entrepreneur, a filmmaker, an author, a logistician, a photographer, a media producer/host (TV / Podcast / Film) & the founder of AMOR Umbrella…I guess you can call her a “Multipotentialite.”
She felt the call to serve her new home, and a year after arriving in the US, she joined the Army to serve her great country. The military offered her many new experiences, and she learned skills like resilience, flexibility, self-motivation, determination, self-discipline, goal setting, and risk tolerance. It was only natural to transition from the military to becoming an Entrepreneur.
Niurka Castaneda leveraged her education combined with her military skills and 20+ years in the field of logistics, in addition to personal life experiences, to create her company AMOR Umbrella, which once upon a time started as a class project at a Global Supply Chain Program at Miami Dade College and quickly became a life-changing endeavour that ignited an entrepreneurial spirit and a journey of creativity, problem-solving, personal empowerment, constant innovation and evolution.
Entrepreneurship was her way to find a new identity after transitioning from the military and building a brand out a heart-shaped bright red umbrella. It was a defining moment because it unleashed her imagination. She is the author of the “How to Launch the Business that Fits Your Lifestyle”© series (HLFYL) (From Idea to Implementation©, “A Better Business Launch Guide©” and It’s All About Time Management© that was created with the goal of helping 1M+ new entrepreneurs launch their dream business, and teach them the skills and strategies needed to scale and succeed in business. She is the co-author of Venture into the Everglades©, which seeks to highlight the benefits of recreational, therapeutic adventures by taking chances, exploring new environments, and connecting trauma survivors on a deep soul level, and it helps unlock healing, discovery, history, and education.
Amor Umbrella has evolved to become a global media heart-centered enterprise that focuses on serving the military-veteran community thru programs, products & services that educate, entertain and empower our community. When our founder found that misinformation of available resources was and still is an issue for active military and veterans alike, so often in the dark of where to go for that much-needed help, she was there too. The reason why she took it upon herself to be a bridge builder and help correct the gap by launching her own Veteran - Entrepreneur Focus media shows & events: Umbrellas of Hope TV & Founders Time Podcast.
In our veteran - Entrepreneur focus tv show, Umbrellas of Hope, She personally curates the content and the accuracy of the information and resources shared and bridges the gap between veterans and the civilian world by initiating and facilitating conversations of Hope, Empowerment and Creativity and avenues to elevate the experience of transitioning out the military.
