    Potcast 229: Tending the Garden

    Potcast 229: Tending the Garden

We’re continuing our Mendo summer farm tour this week at Radicle Herbs in Covelo, CA. I had the pleasure of walking and talking with the farmers as they tended their garden on a market day. We talk chop and drop crops and farming tips that even the backyard gardener will appreciate. We take a peek at the business of farming food versus farming cannabis. The importance of community supported agriculture and the drawbacks of a centralized cannabis system and the corporatization of our lives.

Potcast 228: THCV and Plant Spirit

Potcast 228: THCV and Plant Spirit

We're elevating the cannabis conversation to include the plant spirit of cultivation with Emerald Spirit Botanicals. We discuss their terroir and how they’ve built a deep connection working with the land as a family. We explore conscious creation, breeding work with a focus on minor cannabinoids, and the different lineages they’re developing. And if you’re new to the benefits of THCV, we do a deep dive on that minor cannabinoid and the gifts it has to offer. I believe this potcast will inspire you to get outside and consciously experience nature.

Forest Defenders Threatened at Jackson State Forest

Forest Defenders Threatened at Jackson State Forest

For the past six months, forest defenders have protested ongoing logging at the state-owned Jackson Demonstration State Forest. Their concern: logging the mature redwood forests is bad for climate, water and wildlife. In recent weeks, loggers have threatened physical violence against forest defenders in a manner reminiscent of some of the worst times of the Timber Wars.

On this week’s show, “Alder,” a forest defender at Jackson, and J.P. O’Brien, a climate scientist, share with Gang Green why they are concerned with ongoing logging operations and how the state of California is complacent in allowing threats of violence to occur.

**KD IS NO LONGER WITH ORBITAL JIGSAW OR BLUBRRY**

Jennifer and Sarah Hart were the adoptive parents of 2 sets of siblings, six children in all.  In March of 2018, Jennifer Hart drove her SUV occupied by all 8 of the Hart family off a Northern California cliff side, plunging 100 feet onto the jagged surf below, killing all 8.  What would lead a seemingly loving mother to commit such a horrific act?

The Hart family murders was a murder–suicide that occurred on March 26, 2018, in Mendocino County, California. Jennifer Hart and her wife, Sarah Hart, murdered their 6 adopted children: Ciera (12), Abigail (14), Jeremiah (14), Devonte (15), Hannah (16), and Markis (19) when Jennifer drove the family's sport utility vehicle off a cliff. Jennifer was in the driver’s seat, and Sarah was in the front passenger seat.

**KD IS NO LONGER WITH ORBITAL JIGSAW OR BLUBRRY**

Aaron Bassler was a young man who thrived in the woods, in a place where he could be alone with his thoughts.  His mind was a maze of tangled thoughts, paranoia and delusions that his family struggled to help him unravel.  They sought help, but nobody listened.  And in the end, the lives of 3 men would senseless be cut short due to the failure of the California Mental Health system to intervene before it was too late.  Aaron Bassler shot and killed Matt Coleman and Jere Melo before he was killed by law enforcement after a 36 day manhunt.
