The Evolutionary Man: Presence, Purpose and Power with Jason Lange

The Evolutionary Man: Presence, Purpose and Power with Jason Lange

Who would've thought that most of the world's problems stem from pathological masculinity? And we can trace it back historically to the patriarchal ideology and the impact on women and the planet that has been gaining attention in the last few decades.

Do you believe that as a society, we are partially responsible for why men are disconnected from the heart and have lost awareness of their power? Are we guilty of passing on the belief there is a tiny box in which they should live? Men withdraw from their real emotions such as anger, shame about their sexuality, or freedom to grieve for fear of being judged. The distractions we have created have made it harder for men to decode signals from their bodies and understand them.

Nevertheless, men can rediscover their energy and step into their wholeness and bring back their sensitivity amidst all the odds.

Join us in this week's episode of Breakthrough The Ordinary Podcast and learn how men can have the support they need to deepen their presence, clarify their purpose, connect with their power, and have a deeper relationship with women.

    Episode Challenge: 29:58

Being inside men groups presents an opportunity to be around other men, interact and learn with them, and get that instant transmission of how awakened men embody their healthy masculine energies.

Here’s what Jason suggests you can do:

    • Find ways to get into spaces with people who have done a lot of deep work in energy healing. Observe how they handle their job, finances, and relationships and model what is already working.
    • Spend a lot of time with elders or people older than us who embody the healthy integrative versions of their energies.

How to Start a Men's Group

How to Start a Men's Group

In this episode we’ll explore how to start, structure and maintain a successful men’s group (even if you’ve never been in one before). I’ve personally been in men’s groups for over 10 years, and they’ve improved literally every area of my life.

In addition to learning how to start a group of your own, you'll also hear personal stories from my experiences in men's groups, and you'll hear from a good friend of mine named Nathan who’s actually in my personal men’s group too. Nathan just started a second men's group, and his story is helpful and inspiring because it shows just how easy it can be to start one.

This episode is a recording of the “How to Start a Men’s Group” workshop I led a month ago over Zoom. The recording turned out so well I decided to turn it into a full podcast episode. There's a lot in this episode, so if you're someone who likes to see things written out in nicely structured ways, check out the guide I created below:

Dr. Ed Adams: Why you need to let your humanity rip

Dr. Ed Adams: Why you need to let your humanity rip

Today, Dr. Ed Adams joins me to talk about his newest book, Reinventing Masculinity, that he co-authored with Ed Frauenheim (another awesome show!). We also explore what he's learned during his career as a therapist, how he heard his calling and picked up art, why is started Men Mentoring Men, and most importantly, some practical wisdom we can all use today.

Dr. Ed Adams is a psychologist (and artist) specializing in individual and marriage therapy and has a particular expertise working with men impacted by life transitions such as divorce, loss, illness, and career changes. He considers himself as a "thought partner" for men and women pursuing greater self-awarness and emotional growth. Over the past decades, the art of psychotherapy with individual men, Ed’s presidency of Division 51 (Men and Masculinities) of the American Psychological Association (APA), and the founding of Men Mentoring Men have focused his creative interests toward assisting other men to build more satisfying and meaningful lives. Ed found a way to do this both by blending psychology with art.

Here are just a few of the topics we'll cover in today's show:

    OK with Not Being OK

    OK with Not Being OK

Did you ever notice that when people ask how we are, we often answer, "I'm OK," even when we're clearly not? Even when we feel the opposite of OK, we tend to hide it.

Master Certified Life Coach and Nature's Wingman Ray DePaola helps people find their footing and navigate change, especially with men who want to face and heal painful patterns. Ray shares his own experiences with finding courage despite not being fully OK, and how he connects with the Divine, in himself and fellow humans.
