Are We Experiencing a New Normal?

Aircraft sales are brisk half-way through the second Quarter of this year, so we asked Jay Mesinger, CEO of Mesinger Jet Sales, to join us again for another market update. Topics covered include:

    • An overview of Q1 2021 and the current market.
    • Current pricing for in-service aircraft.
    • Buyer preference for low-time, younger aircraft and the potential for in-service aircraft purchasers to shift their focus toward new aircraft.
    • Are many older aircraft now residing with their final owner?
    • Existing and potential near-term hurdles or tailwinds.

100 - What if up was down and down was up?

100 - What if up was down and down was up?

Mr. Eric is joined by Jonathan Messinger, host of The Alien Adventures of Finn Caspian, for What If World’s 100th episode special. Things will get out of this world! At least, they would if only Bee-Bop the Robot can help Chentle Cheetah make a spaceship.

Lessons include: Accepting failure and trying again gets you one step closer to success; even very intelligent people (and robots) can be wrong sometimes.

012: Why Taking Risks and Having a Vision is Crucial to Growing Your Business

012: Why Taking Risks and Having a Vision is Crucial to Growing Your Business

In 2010 Michael Messinger faced an extraordinary challenge; continue his successful career at a large institutional financial firm that paid well, provided fantastic benefits and gave him the flexibility to control his schedule or leave it all behind to start his own firm Redwood Investment Management.

Based in Beverly Hills, CA  and working almost exclusively with financial advisors, Redwood now manages over $1.2 billion in assets between their Mutual Funds, SMA and Hedge Fund strategies. Additionally, the firm is creating a lineup of ETFs that will allow them to run their strategies across even more platforms.

This amazing growth would not have happened if Michael hadn’t been willing to take risks - and if he hadn’t been able to build a sustainable, win-win model for himself and his clients. Today, we spoke about how he achieved this, what holds so many businesses back, and why passion is so crucial to success.

In this podcast interview, you’ll learn:

    1. Why Michael walked away from a comfortable and highly lucrative job to build his own firm.
    2. How to stop yourself from going off the rails in the face of a challenge—and how boost your productivity in the process!

    3. Why Michael doesn’t think in terms of numbers when he thinks about growth—and why it’s so important to take the emotion out of investing.

    IWTA, Episode 7: JD Messinger

Who are we? Where did we come from? Why are we here? Those are just some of life's big questions asked (and answered) in the book 11 Days in May. It's about one man's journey to understand himself and the world around him, and the wisdom he encounters along the way. That man is JD Messinger, and he has a remarkable story. From the outside everything in his life looked perfect (great job, a beautiful family), but it would take a major crisis for him to realize he was going down the wrong path. This conversation is about that realization. For more info about JD and 11 Days in May, visit jdmessinger.com.
