Special End of Season 4 Grab Bag With Andrew Burlinson

Special End of Season 4 Grab Bag With Andrew Burlinson

As the name would suggest, this week Mark and Allen are grabbing a little of this, some of that, a bunch of who-knows-what from over there, and calling it a show ... it's a GRAB BAG!  We start off with introductions, followed by Constantine's new segment.  We then have some in-depth (well, in-depth for US) analysis on Season 4, how it compares to other seasons, and what we thought of it in general.  Finally, we end the show with a heartfelt tribute to everyone's favorite band, Mouse Rat!  Stick around, you'll be glad you did.  Or not.  Makes no difference to us.  We're just here for the snacks.  (EDIT BY CONSTANTINE:  Way to advertise, idiots ...)

    Pawnee Spotlight: Kimberly Wannop

    Pawnee Spotlight: Kimberly Wannop

Mark and Allen had the pleasure of catching up with Emmy Award-Winning Set Decorator Kim Wannop a few backs and got a chance to learn about the art of Set Decoration including her work on Parks and Recreation Seasons 2-7.

Join the guys as they chat with Kim about her work on long running shows like Parks and Recreation, Veep, The Good Place and Bones as well as movies like Fanboys and Moxie. Kim has a lot to share about her career in the Art Department and we got a chance to learn about a whole new piece of the storytelling puzzle going a little deeper behind the camera than we have to date.

So, strap on your ear-goggles and settle in for a very interesting interview, not only with a terrific and talented guest, but from a perspective that too often doesn't get the attention and credit it deserves. Tune in and see for yourselves!

PS, we wanted to let everyone know that with Summer now in full swing, Mark and Allen will be taking a little time off and working a  new project (hint, hint: it might be another podcast) so you might see a slight, occasional change to a bi-weekly release schedule for a while.  The guys will talk more about this on the next episode. So, stay on the lookout for updates!

    Parks and Recreation

    Parks and Recreation

No show has been recommended with the caveat "but you should skip the first two seasons" more than Parks and Recreation. While we may remember it now as one of the most beloved and enduring sitcoms of the 2010s—with one of the most impressive ensemble casts ever assembled—it certainly didn't start out that way. Special guests Ally Cabrera-Aragon and Mark Foster join us as we take a sobering look at the NBC classic's awkward start.

    031. The TV Boys - J. K. Simmons

    031. The TV Boys - J. K. Simmons
This week The TV Boys sit down to discuss J.K. Simmons. He has been in so many fantastic TV shows that we’re only able to mention a fraction of them. One of our favorites is his performance as Howard in Counterpart, as well as Howard in Counterpart and no, that’s not a typo. Check it out!

    Pawnee Spotlight: Mike Schur

    Pawnee Spotlight: Mike Schur

This week, Mark and Allen talk through facts, opinions, questions, answers, and a few audio clips as they look into why Michael Schur is so... freaking... awesome.  We peel back the layers of the onion as we talk about his early days at Harvard, his time spent at SNL, shows he has connections to, such as The Office, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and The Good Place, why he is so liked by those that work with him, and more!  We can speculate what the future holds for him, but one thing we know for certain... Michael Schur has had an undeniable impact on the world of sit-coms.

Can't We All Just Get Along?

Can't We All Just Get Along?

Leslie and Ben are FIGHTING at the Model UN meeting. Isn’t this supposed to be a peaceful time?! Meanwhile, Chris Traeger is getting more involved with Jerry’s daughter Millicent and recruits Donna, Ann, and of course Jerry to help. Plus we’re celebrating more than a year of Parks n Wrecked! On top of everything, someone is using a leaf blower outside our studio, and it is AUDIBLE. Hope those leaves learned their lesson.

    Episode LI - Jurassic Park
Can you really blame studios for being scared to have their films be released the weekend after Avengers: Infinity War? No, but because of the post Infinity War lull in movies, we decided to do a throwback and honor the 25th anniversary of the one of the greatest blockbusters of all time, Jurassic Park. Listen in as we get into what makes this film stand the test of time as well as nominate the 13th class of Honorable Mensches and as always end with our content of the week.

Ghosted and Brooklyn Nine Nine Halloween

Ghosted and Brooklyn Nine Nine Halloween
Guys, don't even get us started on the history of Trick or Treating. We are in a very Spooo0o00o0o0o0o0oooo0000py mood for this, our first Hallo00oo0o0o0o0oooweeen special. We've got the ghosts of bad costumes, trick or treat horror stories, and two ~Spirited~! sitcoms (see what we did there?). First up is Ghosted, where we explore just how few fucks we give about the paranormal or any other part of this shows premise. Then, we try out a new segment in which we explore recurring Very Special Seasonal Episodes of our favorite TV shows. This time we watched the Halloween episodes of Brooklyn Nine Nine and had some feelings about friendship, Michael Schur proposals, and workplace hijinx. Keep it spoo00o0o0oo0o000ooooopy out there, Halloween friends! We are members of the Thought Bubble Audio Network.
