    Medieval Art with Jack Hartnell

    Medieval Art with Jack Hartnell

In the last of the series, Jack is an Associate Professor of Art History at the University of East Anglia, Norwich and has recently written a best selling book called Medieval Bodies: Life and Death in the Middle Ages. Jim attempts to pitch for a gig as the audiobook narrater whilst Paul and Joe are fascinated by the process of writing a book about Medieval Bodies: Life and Death in the Middle Ages.

You can find Jacks book in plenty of good book shops including this one here.

Sitcom writers Paul, Jimmy (BBC1's Warren) and Joe (Sky's Hitmen) are joined each week by a brand new guest talking about their unusual specialist subject. It normally descends into absolute bollocks.

    Freeeeedom!

We know the story. We've seen the movie. But it's time to talk about the disturbing and gory details of William Wallace's execution: death by being drawn and quartered. Freedom had a hefty price tag in 13th century Scotland, and Wallace paid in full. Beware, disembowelment is not for the faint hearted.

Daniel Donoghue: Fragments of Anglo-Saxon England

Daniel Donoghue: Fragments of Anglo-Saxon England

In this episode of Houghton75, we speak with Daniel Donoghue, John P. Marquand Professor of English. It is a glimpse into the ancient past of England when the world was approaching the first millennium, literature and poetry were shared mainly orally, and the languages spoken by both the clergy and lay people were very different from today. The manuscript fragment Prof. Donoghue chose is on display in our current exhibition, where it can be viewed through April 22, 2017.
