Max Kepler's Calculus (Brewers Series Recap, 6/13-6/14)

First in dramatic fashion and then in a more measured one, the Minnesota Twins take two of two against the rival Milwaukee Brewers in a quick two-game set to start a 10-game home stand at Target Field. David and Dan praise the work of Carlos Correa, whose two big hits in the series -- including his first-career walk-off home run -- were huge factors in the victories. David has lots to say about the bat flip on that homer, while Dan is sure that Brian Anderson is somehow on Max Kepler's secret payroll to make the Twins' outfielder look better out in right. David can hardly contain his love for Donnie "Barrels" Solano and Eddie Julien, while Dan questions how much real consideration Rocco Baldelli gives key decisions like when to pinch hit and what he might want to name his twin children. They also look around the league at the Oakland Athletics' recent winning streak as well as the success of a pair of one-time Twins. Thanks for listening, and go Twins!

    Platelet-rich and Pain-free (Brewers Series Recap, 7/26-7/27)

While Byron Buxton started the series with a leadoff home run, there wasn't much else for the Twins to cheer for, as, for the first time since May, they play a series and fail to win a game. The Brewers had little trouble against troubled Twins starters Dylan Bundy and Chris Archer, leading David and Dan to wonder: Who exactly is going to start for this team the rest of the season? They discuss Buxton's contributions to the team after missing the last series due to an injection in his knee, and they dive into the excellence of Jose Miranda and the ineptitude of the Twins' pitching in general. They ask about how much Wes Johnson's departure has hurt that pitching staff, while they also laugh a bit about Juan Soto's contract situation with the Washington Nationals. Thanks for listening, and as always, go Twins.

Miranda to the Rescue (Brewers Series Recap, 7/12-7/13)

Miranda to the Rescue (Brewers Series Recap, 7/12-7/13)

The Twins earn a split in a brief two-game series with the rival Milwaukee Brewers thanks in large part to rookie Jose Miranda, who hit a three-run homer to end the second game for his second Major League walk-off hit. David and Dan discuss that and more, including the strong start of Joe Ryan in Game 2 and the rain-interrupted loss in Game 1. Dan is eager to ask the Miguel Sano question -- whose spot will he take on the roster in a couple weeks? -- and David wonders whether Cleveland or Chicago pose a greater threat to the Twins' chances of winning an AL Central title. They also look ahead to the All-Star game and discuss one topic David and Dan do not see eye to eye on: the merits of musical theater. Thanks for listening, and as always: Go Twins.
