    Meet Laineemakes

    Meet Laineemakes

Elaine is a Sewover50 follower and she gives her perspective about Black History Month. She sees that she wants to know more about Black History both in the US and in her home country in the UK. Black History Month in the UK is recognised in October each year and she's suggested listeners go to Black History Month UK website and Black Poppy Rose .

Elaine began following Sewover50 when it was first started because she has learnt about Sewover50 through joining the Sewcialists. Elaine refers to her sewing machines as her toys and she's been able to sew her designer inspired dreams as a Minerva Maker.

Elaine recognises that she has found her sewing community through Sewover50 and enjoys the connection with sewists who are over 50 and want to stay visible.

    Raquel take 2

    Raquel take 2

Raquel is this week's Sewover50 podcast guest. Raquel was podcast #2 in 2019 and in this podcast she updates us on her sewing and how she supports the Sewover50 account on Instagram.

Refashions are her joy and she talks to us about how thrifting in Taipei meets her budget needs.

Raquel initially started participating in MAGAM Sewalong when it was run by Sarah Liz. MAGAM Sewalong is another sewing challenge Raquel continues to support each month because this keeps her sewing creativity alive. Raquel is also enjoying being a Minvera Maker now.

    Meet Ceesews

    Meet Ceesews

Did you start sewing the same as Cee did? Cee started using her mother's sewing machine when her parents would go out grocery shopping. She wasn't supposed to touch her mother's sewing machine at all.

Ceesews is today's @Sewover50 podcast guest. She discusses how she really learned her sewing skills through 4H.

Now that Cee has done her first podcast, she's enjoying how she's able to use technology to share her love of sewing. Cee is now a Minerva Maker.

Cennetta Burwell is today's Sewover50 guest. Cennetta has been sewing for over 45 years and she uses planning tools from her worklife to keep her sewing life on track and fulfilling.

Cennetta has been an active member of the sewing community even prior to her establishing her blog in 2007, through her reviews on Pattern Review. Her sewing is impeccable and Cennetta is paying it forward and teaching sewing in her local community.

If you live in the Chicago land area, Cennetta talks about the Haute Couture Club of Chicago. Take a look at their website if you're interested in joining them.

    Meet Ohsewcathy

    Meet Ohsewcathy

It's the connections you make that makes Sewover50 a great account to follow. Cathy discusses her sewing journey and now that she's found the Sewvover50 account, Cathy has made global sewing connections.

On her most recent holiday in Scotland, Cathy met Judith Staley and she also attended Edinburgh Frocktails. What a great holiday!
