5 Stage of Grief for Nerds

5 Stage of Grief for Nerds

It has been hard times for nerds everywhere, and the Gents of the EstoBro TV Podcast have felt the major impact of what has given them the 5 Stages of Grief. To dismantle the denial of misogynist sports fans and gamers, they first address the major news that MLB The Show 24 has spotlighted their 'Road to the Show' game mode has now enabled women to be featured for the player's POV (1:50). With history always being written in baseball, the Gents hype the anticipation of the gender barrier being broken at some point in celebrating Women's Awareness Month. The stages of grief continue with EstoBro's anger at the latest Pokémon Presents (15:00), in which he is clearly showing his bias and age that the franchise is truly going in the direction he does not care for. In bargaining, the Gents debate the fact Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a more anticipated throwback experience in gaming compared to the latest installment of Final Fantasy XVI (27:00). The Gents set into depression with the announcement of the passing of Akira Toriyama (33:05), one of the most influential artists from Japan. Toriyama is best known as the creator of Dragon Ball and a developer of Chrono Trigger, two fantastic pieces of fiction that are still celebrated today. The world mourned his passing, and EstoBro and TV held their remembrance during this segment of the podcast. Finally, in acceptance, the Gents highlight the major wins of the 96th Academy Awards (47:25) with the biggest highlight for nerds being that Godzilla Minus 1 won the Oscar for Visual Effects. They also celebrate the wins of Oppenheimer, including Robert Downey Jr. finishing his redemption arc. Go through the stages of grief with the Gents on this emotional episode of the EstoBro TV Podcast.

Episode 247: When E3 died again

Episode 247: When E3 died again
Is E3 dead again? seems like it. PSVR2 dead on arrival? Halo Infinite dead? why is everything dying in the video game industry??? Netflix dominated 2022, and is looking to lose it all in 2023 with their password crackdown. It also looks like 2023 is the year of the revival with both King of the Hill and Fraiser coming back. Then in the biggest news of the week James Gunn and Peter Safran finally lay out their grand design for DC and somehow it includes Booster Gold.

This week on Digital Days Gaming, Dave and MJC discuss Summer Game Fest dates and Xbox network going down for a few days.

Then we hit on Warner Bros Discovery possibly breaking down their video game division into pieces to sell off to the highest bidder. What does that mean for Netherrealm and Mortal Kombat or Rocksteady and Batman?

Plus Dave reviews the latest headset from Turtle Beach.

    Wertschätzung: MLB The Show 22

    Wertschätzung: MLB The Show 22

    DDG Episode 126

This is the episode the internet tried to stop…well, not really, but the internet was choppy for MJC before recording at least.

This week we have big game announcements, including Kingdom Hearts 4, Max Payne Remastered and Return to Monkey Island! On top of that, Epic games received huge investments from PlayStation and Lego for their Metaverse plans.

From Intelevision to Atari,  Nintendo to Sega and Xbox to Play Station the video game Industry blown up and generations are playing every day. Parents struggle with how much is enough and what kind of games should they be aloud to play? But the cost of these systems, games, downloads, equipment and downloads can add up quickly. It's not going away, so why not learn a life lesson or two on the way? The Great Gaspy: Tom Brady Retires

The Great Gaspy: Tom Brady Retires

The show opens up to discuss the controversy surrounding Spotify and the popular program the Joe Rogan Experience (1:00). EstoBro and TV know that the podcast is one of the most popular domains on the planet and the recent news about Neil Young threatening to pull his music from the platform, followed by other artists, is only adding to the list of growing problems Joe Rogan continues to face. After the theme rolls, EstoBro shares the events of Gasparilla (13:15), a pirate festival that takes place in Tampa every January that happened for the first time since COVID-19 broke out. He continues to break down the history of the festival, the importance of pirate culture in Tampa, and how eventually the festival will build a bridged connection to the popular anime One Piece (21:15). Remaining focused on nerd news; EstoBro also reports Sony purchasing rights for Bungie in retaliation to Microsoft's big purchase, the beloved baseball game MLB The Show is debuting on a Nintendo platform featuring Shohei Ohtani as the cover athlete, and the long anticipation of Pokemon Legends: Arceus dropping last week (24:50). The debauchery of Gasparilla reminded everyone in Tampa of how Tom Brady acts out of pocket when he parties, unfortunately, it was not the same celebration that everyone was hoping for. Over the course of the weekend, the legendary quarterback retired (28:10), and the Gents have their fair takes about how ridiculous the claims were before Brady announced. EstoBro and TV move into discussing the Super Bowl matchup between the Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals (34:45) and all the events that lead up to "big game" that will take place on February 13th. Finally, in the shadow of the MLB Lockout carrying on, TV asks about EstoBro's reaction about the results on who was elected to the Hall of Fame (48:35). Where they have their praises for David Ortiz being selected in his first eligible year, there are bigger issues with Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens not being selected in their final eligible year. The state of baseball is in a state of peril, and EstoBro has no optimism for the sport's future.
