11: 3 steps to get out of fast fashion

11: 3 steps to get out of fast fashion

In this episode, I am giving you a three-step process to quit buying cheap, trendy fashion. You’ll discover my own personal process that I used to get of fast fashion (and I truly considered I was a fast fashion addict at the time).

    My secret 3-step process:

    1. Take a hard look at past mistakes by assessing your wardrobe
    2. When about to make a purchase, connect emotionally to the people who made your clothes, to the environmental impact, or simply to whether it’s a good purchase for you.
    3. This last step is so freaking easy you won’t believe I even mention it. But it is BEYOND powerful!

So dive in today’s episode and let me know what you found most valuable!

The very business model of fast fashion is a broken strategy. And you’ll find out why in this episode.

    I hope it serves you!

5 : Why we can't rely on the second hand industry forever

5 : Why we can't rely on the second hand industry forever

Second hand clothes may be a great alternative to fix all the issues related to the fashion industry, but in this episode, I explain to you why we can't rely on it forever.

So here are the major downsides of the second hand industry:

    1. Fast fashion is overly produced, consumed and given away, so that's what we find in thrift stores
    2. Clothes can't last forever : We will always need to produce new ones (but ideally in a slow fashion approach)

I really hope it will help you create your own opinion about the second hand industry !

3: Why the fashion industry is the second largest polluter

⁣⁣In this episode, I unpick the top three ⁣⁣reasons why our industry is such a heavy polluter. You'll discover why it's so impactful, and hopefully it will inspire you to make some changes in your own behaviours.

I'm revealing these three truths about the fashion industry:

    1. It's an industry that is comprised of many other highly-polluting industries, such as the agriculture, transportation, livestock farming and petroleum industries.
    2. Brands over produce cheap, low-quality clothing.
    3. Us consumers buy too much of this crap !

1: THIS is the core problem (and how to fix it)

1: THIS is the core problem (and how to fix it)

Let's unpick the core problem in the fashion industry. The root of it all. The very thing that causes a ripple effect on everything else: overconsumption.

I'm giving you 3 tangible tips to fix this. I think you'll be surprised and amazed of what I'm suggesting. I hope you'll like my mindful, compassionate approach!

Our overconsumption behaviours, as human beings and as a society, is probably one of the most impactful aspects of the fashion industry.

Even if we choose to buy only eco-friendly, ethical, locally-made, high-quality clothing, we're still stuck at square one if we buy too much of them. Right?

So today, I urge you to lay more compassionate eyes on yourself, on your body image and body confidence. I also suggest you assess your wardrobe to see what's in there and understand your spending and purchasing behaviours. Finally, I recommend implementing practical tools that will help us reduce our overall fashion consumption.
